Unfurl the anti-Chainrai banners, sing chants calling him to leave the club: "**** off Chainrai, Chainrai **** off", for 90 minutes let it be clear that we don't want him as well as supporting our team and Mr. Appleton. NO racism though and no completely OTT chants, just blunt and to the point but not offensive. Anyone who believes he is some kind of knight in shining armour is deluded.
The News is reporting that MP Mike Hancock said that Trevor Birch told him and the Trust that the administrators fees were already sorted and would come out of the clubs current funds and not the funds of the people taking over. PKF have confirmed this and the Supporters Trust have confirmed it. So we must then draw the conclusion that Chainrai wants to take over the club without paying PKF anything significant if he can help it, and thus make the clubs current funds available to him, and with the additional fact that he slashed Appleton's budget to about 65% less than was originally allowed it seems to suggest that we are in for a long period of syhponing off of the clubs resources, such as they are, so Chainrai can recover his loss. So he is surely not a Knight in Shining Armour.
Back to the original question Living in Plymouth at the time, I went to the League Cup first Round tie back in 1998 (first leg). It was standing at the Barn Park end in those days and I remember a certain JPFCW spending the entire game [or so it seemed] smacking his bell against the crush barriers. We won 3-1 so I went away happy, albeit a bit deaf.
I also strongly urge fans to boycott home games if Chainrai takes over. Seriously, it's come to the point where we can't just sit around and watch as he destroys our club.
Back to the spirit of the original question - our knight in errrmmm armour! Let's have a quick look at his record. 1. He lends £17m to Al Faraj's company Falcondrone (the former Director of Finance confirmed that it never went into PFCs bank accounts) 2. He slaps a fixed charge (debenture) over a Falcondrone asset ie Fratton Park 3. He placed PFC (not Falcondrone) into administration 4. He "purchased" PFC from administration 5. He promised a "surprise" on Tuesday (following the purchase) on a Sky TV interview and stated his aim was to get straight back to the PL - surprise - there was no surprise - no surprise there then 6. He promised to pay all charities the monies owed - the fans paid instead 7. He promised to pay all under £2k debts to small creditors - didn't - and passed that obligation on to CSI who also failed to honour that commitment 8. He delayed the first tranche of the CVA until April 2012 so none of "his" money was ever called upon 9. He appointed Lampitt and the other Directors and allowed them to overspend on wages and continue living on credit 10. He sold to the first buyer who came along, even knowing that they had a very dodgy history 11. See MAJRs post above re the Administrator fees 12. See MAJRs post above re the lying to Michael Appleton So yeah - tell the grinning shark to eff off away from our club.
I fear the above posts are correct.......Is all hope gone for the trust to take over? With someone like him at your helm it has to be bloody obvious what his intention is. You will also become a selling club just so he can recoup his money. So you will get some good youngsters and just as you are shaping up some one will come along and offer a couple of million and bingo back to the beginning again. He has only to do that for a couple of years then he has his money back he will then sell the club on and that will be his profit. Does that all sound a bit familiar?
The only way for our trust to take over is if BC pulls out. The PST are ready to go but that has to happen first.
Yes it does, Beddytare - thanks for reminding us ! Now where did I put that length of rope?..............
Oh - I thought it was for Hong Kong Phooeey and his sidekick. I've got a few paving slabs you can have to weight them down........
R.I.P Portsmouth Football Club and my faith in the beautiful game. Danny Welbeck gets a 5 year £75k a week contract from Manchester United today....... .......The bigger picture is this is a football wide issue and PFC are not the first and they will without any doubt not be the last.....
What is quite interesting is that Chanrai's request that TB reduces his fee and compromises some of the rest is nothing to do with the price of the club. It is all to do with ensuring that there is money in the bank for him to access and to remove. The money to pay TB's fees is put aside and is safe and you can rest assured that the minute those funds plus the value the club's realisable assets are threatened with becoming less than TB's fees plus the cost of winding the business up then Pompey will be liquidated. Just remember when you ask a solicitor to do the conveyancing on your house you don't ask him to chuck in a few bob to help you buy it. Birch has a responsibilty to his profession and to his employers not to reduce his fee or to compromise his fee. If he were to do so then it would be highly unlikely that he would work in the sector again.
Twitter message from Greg Halford - just thought I'd pass it on to those of you with no twitter account. Good luck to @officialpompey @sammagri @jedwallace62 @AshleyHarris09 @AdamWebster31 and all the supporters against Plymouth tonight! #pup
It's going to be covered on Express FM - and as it isn't a league game those of us living outside the area should be able to get it via the internet.
