He has said he is happy with our first 11 but we need more additions - 100% what everyone on here has been saying He has said that for whatever reason deals have fallen through but he is still hopeful for further additions - something I think every one on here wanted to hear (that we have cash available to make further signings) He has said that he has pulled out of deals due to the players being more interested in cash than playing football - something we all have commented on before He has said that he pulled out of other deals due to the fact he wasnt going to pay over the odds for players - something that we have all commented on before He has said that he is frustrated that other deals have fallen through - something I think we have all felt this season So basically he says what most of us have been saying but is automatically in the wrong again. Regardless of his managerial ability I do feel sorry for the guy as certains fans will have ago at him even when he is honest and make sense.

If we are not prepared to pay the going rate for a striker like Steve Davies who at £1 Million is a reasonable price then we haven't got a hope in hell of attracting proven players! We have spent £500k this summer and the majority of that was on an 18 year old who isn't proven at this level. I know we need to show restraint in the finances but why are we the only club that is binding itself to the FFP rules a year early? Like I have said, if we had a strong group of players capable of getting promotion and a fairly decent squad as cover then I would understand it! The truth is that we are way behind in overall squad strength and we simply have to get more quality in just to match those teams around us! We can't afford to stand still while other teams are getting stronger. There is no ambition at this football club!
So why don't we do like other teams and hold on to our players until we get a replacement instead of letting them go. I'm all for getting our finances in order, and we have been taken for mugs in recent years by paying too much, but this is the last opportunity to spend cash so we should really be pushing the boat out this time at least.
Exactly! If we had a squad of 18 QUALITY players capable of getting out of this league then I wouldn't be too bothered by our lack of ambition now. The truth is however that we lack quality in depth and without any real back up especially in defensive areas we are going to struggle. All Jewell does is come out with all this drivel about not being able to get players in. I don't care about his excuses, as a supporter of Town I want to see some decent signings!

Jewell said a couple of players were pretty much sewn up, however it was clear they were solely motivated by money. Do we really want another player like that !? Lets see what squad we end up with. I'd rather hear this from Jewell rather than him say nothing regarding transfers. Whatever he says would be wrong in some peoples eyes.
