I agree, time to let it go. I wouldn't pay more than £10M (I don't have £10m just in case Jez Moxey considers this a bid) for Fletcher.

Do you have £10m realist? <biggirin>

Agree with every word though but it's up to Ellis, Margaret and Martin how much they believe he's worth will be all that matters

They've moved the goal posts again so **** em move on. If I was Fletcher I'd go on strike, any other employee can move companies when they want so should footballers be allowed to, all employees are an asset to a company and I know you want to keep your best but if you are getting adequate recompense then you should take it.

Time to move on i say. we are going to end up looking like a bunch of mugs com the 1st september either way. we will either of spent over the top on fletcher (an aversge player in my eyes)or we will spend the whole transfer window chasing 1 player and end up with cuellar as our only signing. Personally i think if we pay over the odds for fletcher by agreeing to meet wolves evaluation whats does that say to other clubs we then put bids in for??? they will do the same and see us as s soft touch and increase prices.

    Deffo time to look elsewhere!!!

Wolves are taking the piss here, yes they have every right to try to hold on to their players but if they were that desperate to keep him they shouldn't have played so ****e last season and got relegated. We are offering them a very reasonable price which they are not likely to get from another team. Fletcher wants out, and however professional he may be there is no way his head will be 100% in the game for Wolves after this saga. They are by no means certain to get promoted with their current team, and while they already have a couple of decent Championship strikers their defence is garbage, so I don't see why they won't accept our fee and use the Fletcher money to improve the rest of their team.

As for us we should definitely tell the Brummies to do one and start looking elsewhere. There is more than one decent striker in the world who'd be willing to move to us. However desperate our striker situation may be it's not worth being held to ransom and blowing half our budget on a solid but unspectacular player.

If we bid 10 million for him and offer him 75k a week for on a 3 year contract it'll only cost us 8 million over 3 year because we are willing to throw 15 million at fletcher.

That was my exact chain of thought mate, and as someone mentions, add Odemwingie for 4-5million and we are laughing.

I am sick of hearing the name Stephen Fletcher, we surely must take the hint now from Wolves to either spend stupid money or leave it and 99.9% of Sunderland fans want to leave him now and move on, but like many of you I have no sodding idea who to but hopefully the club do.

Im not too concerned about starting the season as it is, Fletcher or no Fletcher we arent expecting much from Arsenal but we should aim to have somebody in by the Reading game definately!

for me this is time to leave it. 12m should be an absolute max and if wolves want more then we should leave them with an unhappy player.

agreed though that it is wolves prerogative to ask for what they want as he's their player. the bit that gets me is that what they want seems to keep changing.. 10 to 12 to 15... to 20!? idiot club as he's going to leave one way or another, probably for less as time goes on and his contract runs down.

Move on. Wolves are trying to pull our trousers down and bend us over.

I notice that Wolves are the ones who are making the negotiations public.

Sunderland have not commented on players from other clubs. Let's see what happens when Sunderland pull out and Wolves are left with a disgruntled player. If I were Sunderland I would go back with a bid of £3m and make it public. Two can play this game.

I think enough is enough, its time to move on. He is not a step up anyway. Time to look elsewhere. A bloke in the pub at the weekend who is a Spurs fan thought we would get Defoe. I would personally like to see us bid 15m for Sturidge and test Chelsea's resolve.

You know, I think Chelsea would be tempted at £15million for Sturridge, and deal at £18million.

A £15million with add-ons deal may have a chance, he'd be some signing.

Scousers & Spurs would likely gazzump us though, if we moved.
