Personally, Ruddy, Martin, Ward, Bennett, Lappin, Bennett, Fox, Surman, Pilkington Vaughan, Holt. Howson, Snodgrass and Johnson could all feature in that midfield though depending on who had the best pre-season. I dont know. Yet to see Whittaker or Turner play. What upsets me is I think the squad is weaker than it was at the close of last year. We have lost Drury, Whitbread, and Naughton and picked up Whittaker and Turner. I don't think they're better players and it will take them a little while to blend it. I don't want to be too negative before a ball is kicked though.
Interesting one. We really have no clue from pre season formations, but I don't really fancy 442 away from home. My current ideal: Ruddy Martin Turner R Bennett Tierney E Bennett Howson Johnson Pilkington Hoolahan Vaughan Obviously that means Holt coming on around 55-60 mins for the raised eyebrows- my reasoning being that he isn't the best for 451, he often starts the season slowly and he is a fantastic impact sub, tired defenders will dread that. I'd also be looking at bringing on Snodgrass and Jackson/Surman in the second half if we're losing, depending on where on the pitch we're struggling, or Fox if we're winning/drawing to shut out the game. Does anyone know if Fox has recovered fully? I've been on holiday. Also, will Hoolahan be fit if he's pulled out of the Ireland match? EDIT: Just also seen that apparently Pilks is injured??
please please two strikers last season at CC we only got going in the second half when jackson came on to support morrison.
EDIT: Just also seen that apparently Pilks is injured??[/QUOTE] Do we think this is a "tactical" injury to avoid a meaningless international friendly or could Pilks be out on Saturday?
Norwich stare and Rod, look forward to seeing those on http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/161254-LINE-UP
Ruddy R.martin ward r.bennett Tierney Snodgrass hoolahan howson pilkington Holt Vaughan And that looks pretty strong to me on paper. Only thought is to put Johnson in over hoolahan to bolster it a bit.
Big thumbs up on this one for me. I think playing E Bennett ar RB gives us so much pace at the back and provides a superb attacking option on the overlap. I'd much rather have our opponents midfield tracking back covering EB's runs than have them attack us..
