Isn't that more of a medley than a mashup?

I know a medley is usually different songs by the same performed rather than different artists doing the same song, but I thought a mashup was where the lyrics from one song were played over the instrumental of another where the timing fitted?

Oh, and most mashups suck. When they first became popular there were quite a few that were good, the problem now is any tone deaf moron can make one that's terrible and stick it on youtube so it's hard to find the good ones.

    I can't load the clip.

Without sounding like an old fogey are these Mash ins a bit like 'bits and pieces' from the old Radio One Roadshow?

Oooooh Gary Davis on your radio and The Hairy Cornflake.

Halcyon days, whatever happened to Halcyon Travel?

For the clip in the OP, if you think about when they did "Perfect Day" for Comic Relief or Children in Need and had all the BBC staff doing a line then it's a bit like that. They've used clips from various versions of Imagine that have been released by people over the years. (The clips are longer than a line, but the same principle of cutting them together)

I only got half way through but that's exactly what I meant. And that's actually one that's been put together quite well (it's still ****e artistically, but technically it's good).

If we're moving onto kids TV shows I prefer Life on Mars vs Camberwick Green.
