HI Boss, I'm not at all sure I'm happy about people running a book or any form of gambling on what I say or do, so I think I'll delete my ignore list, and maybe my account and start again under another name, or not at all.

Am busy today, so have to think this through - in the meantime, where's our striker? effectively three days to go before the Toon to get someone in, it's frankly shambolic.

Even if people rate ENIC, and fair play to them if they do, they have to admit this situation is a disgrace.

Tell you what Ghoddle10, I'll scrap the book and forfeit any money I would have made if you delete your ignore list and give everyone a chance again <ok>

As for the striker situation, I expect he is sat in Manchester waiting for 5 million to be transferred to his account and double checking he never gave the wrong sort code.

While our chairman has his spreadsheet open, ready to add adebayor to the list of his great transfer dealings, not sure what place he will be though.

just came on here to ask why we are intersted in m'villa. surely with sandro, livermore, parker and huddlestone its one of our strongest positions and we surely should spend the money on another are like in goal or up front.

right... the M'vila reports are everywhere now.

what the hell is going on? another defensive midfielder, when we're clearly crying out for players in most other positions except for that one!

Fair play Boss, that's a good idea. I'll rep you for that. <ok>

It's done, same criteria as before though, if people get rude or insulting to me, I'm sticking them on ignore. This place is for debate not name calling, especially by fellow supporters.

    The M'Vila reports prove

    1. The people who come up with transfer rumors are insane, idiotic or both.

    2. Spurs organization is insane, idiotic or both.

    3. Someone thinks M'Vila will somehow become a playmaker.

    I'm guessing and hoping it's #1.

Hi Relayer66, My father took me to my first game in the very early 70,s. Martin Peters was making his début. The year we came back from the old Second division
we sign a couple of Argentinian World Cup winners. From 70 to 91 we always tried to win trophy's. We failed many times but we gave it ago. In these years the
FA cup was nearly on the same level as winning the league. 3 FA cups, 2 Euro Cups, 2 League Cups and 2 lost finals. Spurs were the side with swagger and
considered arguably as the premier cup side. We bought players at their peak or the best young talent, many record signings such as Gazza, Argies, Archibald,
Peter Taylor (bit of a flop), Conn, Coates,Stewart, Lineker to name a few.
The club had a totally different ethos, not lame as today.
We do exist on parallel Universes , I like to dream, I am emotional, my club will be Bridget Bardot in my eyes (I will just pour myself another) .

The Fail are claiming we've sold Modric for £25m to RM.

I don't know what's worse - the fact that we'd accept this after rejecting £30m or that I can actually see us sanctioning this?

Barely half an hour after the Fail article the Spurs site had an article of their own with Walker saying how much better he and Lennon's understanding is getting. Yeah, cos we'd be putting articles like that on our site if Lennon was on his way out <doh>

Definitely but we could do with getting rid of Cudicini or Gomes first.

  14. Sidney - not doubting your devotion and I totally agree with you in terms of what we have come to expect in terms of playing style: we have had any number of players who did or would have graced the loftiest stadia.
Where we disagree is on what represents being a giant club and, I guess, what we want our club to do to achieve that goal.
I think that we have had some great signings in recent years - Modric, VDV, Berbs to name but 3 - and none of which broke the bank. If you then look at the current side and assess that (again arguably) 2 of our best and most important players, Bale and Walker, were effectively bought for a relative song, it suggests that purely money will not necessarily be the most effective panacea. And I certainly don't want us to follow a Leeds and financially implode from profligacy.

Having said all that, I wish DL would do us all a favour and confirm Leandro and Ade as signed tonight!!! Lol

PS - think you got your years mixed up: Parking Meters was signed in 1969/70 as I recall in a swap for Greavsie. Relegation came 5 years later.

I don't know how long I can take us not signing a striker. It is ridiculous the amount of times a day I think about it. I think even more than sex worryingly.

but there's a few things you can do to get over the "sex" issue.

however, there's **** all you can do about signing a striker! Newcastle must be feeling quietly confident going into the weekend.

Roo - I think I must be like most Spurs fans, getting into work, logging on and them scanning BBC gossip pages and then Sky Sports vainly hoping there will suddenly be this major announcement. There is still 17 days of this to go! Considering there is 5 days to go until the season starts I really hoped we would have signed someone by now. I don't even think I am being impatient anymore!

Relayer69, Peters signed in March 1970 for a record fee £200,000, with Greaves going the other way for about £50,000. I think we lost ,I was about 5, in the
    seats in the Park Lane.
It would be amazing if we signed them !, but sadly I am not sure if a Leopold can change it's spots.

I'm thinking I should create a transfer site and go online as some sort of MR X, the man in the know but can't be seen! as this transfer gossip is big business!
