As your all aware, we are in a full blown crisis. The UN security council has been informed and the fined minds on the planet are gathering to make an assessment on just why we didn't manage to beat a German champions league football team.

Now for fan reaction from the very highest level, the High council of wisdom that is the Pinkun

Thats Steve Morison, who scored 9 in the Premier League last season, compared to a man that sells Tuna fish.... Right...

Frankly, what pisses me off most is that he carries the name "Indy". theres no need to get Indiana Jones involved in this level of negativity

Blimey, what forum is this guy reading!

This guys so good he gets another mention "If the season had gone on MUCH LONGER we probably would have faced the drop"

    Much Longer.
    MUCH Longer...
    MUCH ....!!!!! LONGER!!!....!!!
IT'S THE SAME LENGTH EVERY YEAR YA FRIGGIN DERP!!

Last ones a classic, from a guy I'm fairly sure isn't an Ipswich fan or anything like that, but is probably mentally ill from some of the things i've read...

    Attention
    Whore
    Douchebag

"I hope and pray that as usual I'll be proven compleatly wrong" = I'm anegative person but will jump on the bandwagon of victory at the slightest notice

    Goodnight people, don't have nightmares.

Beef, what on earth is wrong you

The Indy guy isn't even being negative, he's just pointing out what he's seen

I think most would take 0-0 as they don't expect us to keep a clean sheet. I know I would

I dare say we looked behind Borussia in terms of fitness. It seems even by Hughtons comments the sharpness is not there yet.

Are you saying you'll be disappointed with a 0-0, have you seen so much in our play to justify this stance that it is so ridiculous to suggest it would be a good result.

Morisons touch is appalling and he's not link up man, hes not skillful enough, I think even Pyjamas would agree with this (and thats saying something).

"There seems to be an expectant level of optimism on here which is not necessarily a good thing as it could lead to dissapointment. " What on earth is so negative about this???? He's just saying people shouldn't get carried away (to people much like yourself I might add)

I know you think your being witty and sarcastic to these people but apart from the last 2 comments they really aren't saying anything that might not be true or being overly negative. They are commenting on what they have seen, not what they want to happen or see.

Whats worse is they don't have the chance to reply back, just your edited versions of what they said to make the Pink Un site look bad.

Anyway, who thinks this article is an over reaction to some pretty mild statements (not including the last few)

To be fair, I would agree with Morison not being good enough.

Saying that though, I don't read too much into pre season, yeah the goals have been slightly dry but you have no idea how the season will turn out before it's started. It's not me reserving my opinion, I just don't think that pre season is enough evidence to worry or optimistic. It's more to do with performance if anything. I would say I am more worried defensively as I think we have a worse defence than last season. We lost Whitbread, Naughton, Ayala and Drury and have only bought in Whittaker and Turner.

That's my cause for concern, again will have to see how we start though. Very optimistic about Butterfield though. Think him and Howson will be big players this season.

    Agreed.

YellowLittle - Morison may yet surprise us all and he scored some pretty vital goals last season - all we need is for him to redicover his early season form that he showed and he will get his fair share of goals. R Bennett and Turner (our new No 3) looked quite composed on Saturday and I don't feel the loss of Whitbread or Drury is of too much concern - Naughton is the one I feel will be more of a loss. Whether or not Whittaker will be a good buy or not we will have to wait and see.

Firstly, I don't rate Morison. Yeah he got goals last season, no denying that but he also went on a massive dry patch, which was more recent and longer. I think we can get better, would rather have Jackson in as I feel he can play a part in more goals even if he is on a drought. Morison has probably the worst first touch a Premier League forward has ever had, sometimes runs to try and keep the ball in but he can't because he doesn't have the technical ability to keep it in. He might do well, and I hope he does. But I think this is a big season for him either way.

I think Turner is a good signing don't get me wrong. A very astute signing. I don't personally see Bennett being able to play consistently all season in his first full Premier League season, big ask for a young player. Which will leave Ward and Barnett filling in at times whom I don't particularly rate and think Ayala could do a better job than both of them. I still think we need another left back to give Tierney competition and also need another centreback in my opinion and Ward or Barnett shown the door. Preferably Barnett.

Yeah jury is definitely out with Whittaker, will have to wait and see but he doesn't leave me all massively confident, safe to say he isn't as good as Naughton though.

The thing about Morison is he's a USEFUL player to have, he can score goals with his head and is reasonable shooting wise. Thats it however. I personally want a bit more as I just don't respect these types of players, regardless of the colour shirt.

But to say that he would be a good link up man is ridiculous, I think he had the worse pass success rate in the division (so I heard), you need to at least be reasonable in those technical departments to be a link up man.

I think Drury and Naughton still need replacing, I'm happy with the centre backs we have. If Hughton is going to play more defensive, then the defence needs to be working, if not we are going to be in trouble.

I just hope Hughtons not putting his eggs in this defensive basket.

That's a pretty fair summary and Morison does need to be more consistent in his play, otherwise, send him on loan and keep Vaughan. Tierney needs competition for the LB spot definitely and would like CH to at least enquire about Naughton - that would make a lot of fans very happy. <ok>

Good point about Vaughan, I sometimes forget about him. Which is bad, if he can stay fit he will get goals in my opinion. I agree about Naughton, but if he is too much money than leave it and look elsewhere. I think his wages are a big stumbling block.

I like Vaughan, he could be great for us.

Some players just get alot of injuries while they are still growing (Gerrard was one).

It would be good to see somone different to Holt having an impact on the game as a whole, not just scoring every now and then. He could be the man.
