Everyone's leaving! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Inter-Milan-want-Tottenhams-Aaron-Lennon.html
Just took me a few minutes to find my own ignore list! I don't think that you can check to see if you're on anyone else's, unfortunately.
If you use this forum, odds are you're on G10's ignore list because you disagreed with him some time - he doesn't like posters using the combination of logic and common sense to shoot down his suggestions.
Well said Sidney, my Spurs too was about glory - when I started supporting the club well over 50 years ago, we were one of the biggest clubs in the country, and a glamorous, succesful club as well. Under ENIC we have had our worst trophy haul in over 60 years - one Carling in 11 years is poor by our standards. Go back back 11 years before ENIC, and even during the much maligned 90s we won two trophies, that's twice as much as ENIC, with an FA Cup as one of them, Oh and we managed a higher placed finish than ENIC have done, 3rd in 90. That's when we were bad apparently, now we're 'good' where's the trophies to show for it? I support Spurs, I don't support ENIC or a good set of accounts. If they can't compete with the big boys, let them move aside and sell the club to someone else.
Ghoddle10, I assume i'm not on your ignore list as you replied to my post the other day so can you confirm the names of all the people on your ignore list as i'm running a book on it and stand to make a huge sum.
HI YV, when you've supported a club for as long as I and Sidney have, we have no desire to change our club. What we want are better owners or a change of policy from ENIC, it's our club in a spiritual sense more than ENIC's. I was supporting Spurs for over 40 years before ENIC appeared, I hope to live enough to outlive ENIC and we get our club back. I think a lot of younger fans probably can't imagine how embarrassing it is for some of us old timers to have a club like Chelsea, for so many decades in our shadow, now ruling the roost over us.
HI Boss, have to go out soon, so will do a list later, it includes HBIC which he knows, Mighty Thor, ditto. Also, Spurs Disciple as well, though I can't remember why we fell out. In general, I have no problem with anyone on the site, until they start insulting/abusing me, then I just stick them on ignore, life's too short, etc. Though to be honest I think I put HBIC there, because we argue all the time. I don't accept his views on so many things and it was all getting tetchy, so I decided it was easier to let him say what he wants and not challenge it.
I know I'm on it - he made a big show of it, and even threw a hissy fit when somebody quoted me to disagree with him. What does this forum look like to him?
I suggested that, for the FA Cup game with Stevenage, we rest a few players instead of flog the first team into the ground. He got mightily offended when I suggested central midfield should be Sandro and Carroll (I would've suggested Sandro and Huddlestone, but Hudds was injured at the time), even moreso when I stated his pairing of Parker and Livermore was tactically wrong as our style of play requires a midfield playmaker (like Modric, Huddlestone or Carroll) and playing Parker and Livermore would cut out a lot of our forward momentum. In the match, we played Parker and Sandro, were crap for large periods of the match, and drew 0-0 whilst playing the likes of Kaboul, Parker, Bale and Walker when they could have been rested (something a lot of our players were clearly missing in the latter stages of the season), whilst we lost Dawson to injury in the replay that could have been avoided if Harry didn't dick around with the system and have us play 3-5-2.
Redknapp got so much wrong for that game that I didn't know where to start with my rants. Just bizarre.
No offence Sidney, but I have been a Spurs fan for 45 years and we have not been a giant of the English game in that time!! In fact the last 4/5 seasons have arguably been our most consistent of that entire period. Or maybe we exist in parallel Universes and in yours Spurs have won the PL or CL?? Now, I am not saying that it would not be nice for the owners to splash a little more cash, but I don't think that ENIC can be held responsible for the fact that we haven't been a 'giant' since 1962/3!!
Quick ITK update: We're signing everyone. Or no one. Take that to the bank. Or don't. Green and orange.
The Stevenage thread makes quite an interesting read looking back on it. Whilst discussing rotation: I guess we know 'Arry didn't read our board
I was more concerned by the decision to pick the team via the medium of pin the tail on the donkey, to be honest. It was either that or everyone in the squad had their name put in a hat and the first XI out got to start.
GH10 and I fell out over my language. I don't swear that much on here, and the words I used were quite mild I thought. It degenerated over his insistence that we should play 2 defensive mids, not wanting to use Lennon very much at all. He even supported Harry's bizarre insistence of using Bale centrally I seem to recall. What I find strange is the reluctance to debate with other posters. Surely that is the joy of these forums (as long as they aren't personal and abusive - and I will sue if he claims I have ever been either!). Debate is the life blood.
