    Having players back from injury doesn't strengthen the squad, it just gives you more options to have on the field...before they get injured again. <ok>

    C'mon be fair. Carra and Rio aren't the same type of centre back. Carra is more like Steve Bruce and is better than Bruce ever was. Whereas Rio is more like Gary Pallister but not quite as good.

    I think you are gettin confused with what we are probably meaning by strengthing aka going out and buying more players in specific positions. Of course having Vidic back strengthens the squad but Is there adequate replacement? ( I know Smalling, Evans, Jones, etc)

    We could have strengthened with a player out of the Bundesliga who has never played at the highest level(Kagawa) and a league 1 player(Powell).
