Pearson has always improved a club, he has yet to do worse than a season before. Sven has been England manager, does that make him better than Bruce? because he didn't find it easy in this league at all.
Bruce is a stable Premier League manager and a great Championship manager whereas, Pearson is just a stable Championship manager.
Well Bruce is at Hull, so he isn't a stable premier manager. Sven Managed Man City, better than any team that Bruce has managed.
What does sven have to do with anything. Doubt many clubs will have him as manager and he probably has a better record of clubs than most
Charlies trying to argue that because Bruce was a prem manager, hes better than Pearson, im just saying Sven is a better manager than that and he didnt fare too well in this league, so theres no point in saying "our managers better than your manager"
You knew what I meant, the league season, that cup is no different to a pre-season. If you think that us going to penalties against Rotherham is any indication of how the season will pan out then you're a bit of an idiot. We did beat them, or else we wouldn't be in the next round.
How could it not be an indication? It was your first competitive match of the season Just because your little club hasn't won it
How many times do clubs lose to ****ty league 1&2 clubs and end up having successful seasons, and we didn't even lose. It's no different from you losing to Shrewsbury. Players treat it like a pre-season. I don't follow, have Leicester decided to not accept penalties so just don't count them. I guess you think Italy didn't beat us in the Euros? Spain shouldn't have been in the final?
Wolves also won 7-6 on penalties(against Aldershot) and Blackpool lost(against Morecambe), so presumably you think they're both going to have a **** season too? It felt every bit like a pre-season, there was barely anyone there and it lacked the pace of a normal league game, it means absolutely nothing in the scheme of things. Though I suspect you already know this and you're just being contrary for the sake of it, it's what you always do.
Warnock is better than Bruce if your going for records in this league. Pearson has yet to fail at a club hes been at.
If bruce failed at every club then why would he have managed in the premier league for nearly all of his career and only of been relegated once
Erm, this thread is going a bit off course, me thinks but for the record, Hull did beat Rotherham, albeit on penalties & scrape through into the 2nd round ! As for the manager side of things, I don't think Bruce is the messiah the Hull guys are making him out to be. I also believe his record as a player( a fookin good one at that !) has,up to now allowed him to punch above his weight as a manager IMO. I, up to now, think he could of got better than Proschwitz for that money but I could be totally wrong just as I hope that the reservations I have with regard to NP signing Futacs are equally wrong, albeit we did not pay 2.5 million quid for him ! I actually believe the days of the BIG target man are numbered as we seem to be moving closer to the continental style of football ?
Well in fairness OLM when we lost to Shrewsbury a non competive friendly we had a number of Hull posters telling us we were doomed
