I am not anti Arsenal. I think he will be a very good signing for you and look forward to seeing him play in England. I just think you are getting carried away.
Firstly, you're not the only good side who had either poor seasons entirely, or poor sequences. Liverpool and Chelsea had awful seasons in the league, and Spurs had a terrible finish. Chelsea will definitely be looking for a title challenge, and if Spurs can sign some decent strikers they'll be confident of pushing you all season. Secondly, there was a 19 point gap between second and third, which is obviously massive. New signings will probably have to take some time to gel in the style of English football, so to think a couple of signings will improve your team by a whole 19 points, I'm not so sure. You've haven't finished in the top two since 2005 I believe, so to say you are very likely to after two possible signings is premature.
Hazard - Debatable Götze - No Ronaldo - Yes Messi - Yes Silva - Yes Mata - No Kagawa - No Rooben - No Ribery - Yes Toure - No van der Vaart - No Pastore - No Ãzil - Yes Kaka - No Iniesta - Yes Fabregas - Yes Pedro - Debatably Sanchez - Debatably I'm not making him out to be the messiah, I am just trying to get you all to realise just how good he is. For Christ's sake, you just said ****ing van der Vaart is better than him... ****ing hell. And that's not even just because he plays for Spurs, before any of you cockroaches try to claim I am being biased.
Before Di Maria picked up his injury he was easily the 2nd best winger/inside forward in La Liga behind Ronaldo, they were on fire, he's improved massively over the past 2 seasons and at 24 he is still improving every year. I like Cazorla, I think he is a very good player and will be an excellent signing for Arsenal, but better than Di Maria? Not even close in my opinion.
I'm not getting carried away, as I have said, I watch La Liga regularly, and I watch Malaga regularly, Cazorla stand out in every game he plays, I bet there are about 2 or 3 other guys who have commented in this thread who watch Cazorla play as regularly as I do, and they are the ones who agree with I am saying, the rest of you just catch the odd game of Real Madrid or Barcelona on Sky Sports, a few of you half heartedly watch Revista de La Liga and try to form intelligent opinions from just highlights, which is silly, because as we all know, programmes like that can make a mediocre player like van der Vaart or Stewart Downing look amazing, see Match of the Day. The rest of you don't even watch any European football what so ever, never mind La Liga. And you get your opinions from FIFA, Football Manager, hear say, and reputation.
I agree, but then all the inconsistent performances let him down, that's why I would take Cazorla over him at the moment.
It's not hard for me to grasp at all. I'm just surprised that bigger clubs willing to pay higher wages wouldn't be in for him at such a price if he was really all that. What you stated as fact isn't fact at all- it's a not very widely held opinion.
It's not very probable at all though, is it? Surely even the most ardent Arsenal fan would accept that you're behind City and United and realistically Chelsea at the moment. Do you really see Arsenal running City close?
Realistically we were 10 points behind City and United last season. 9 points of the 19 can be written off due to the points lost at the start before we signed 6 players. Our squad with the new players is 10 points off the pace I'd say. So far we have signed Podolski and Giroud, two very classy players (I think Giroud will prove to be better) who add a lot to the squad. If we then sign Cazorla and Sahin, two world class players, whilst holding onto RVP you have to say they could close that 10 point gap. Especially when you consider that we should have Wilshere back by the turn of the year.
I've heard that one before. If Arsenal get within six points of City they'll have had an excellent season. Even with the new players there are frailties that Wenger will always be unwilling to remedy.
Haha that wasn't even an optimistic estimation. He should be back in the squad by October. We'll see though. This team is very capable of pushing for the title: Podolski--RVP--Cazorla --------Sahin--------- -----Arteta-Song----- Gibbs-Verm-Kosc-Sagna -------Szczesny------- And with guys like Walcott, Chamberlain, Giroud, Gervinho, Ramsey and Rosicky on the bench we'd have some serious super-subs too.
