No, I actually think that Green is worse than Norris and have not had any issues with signing him. Theres been a lot of bad players in leeds shirts as well by the way
Was a lot better than Pearce at CB which is slightly worrying Pearce was shaky but sure he'll come good
I thought both CB's did well. Very impressed with Byram at right back, he was very good. The front 3 did okay, McCormack stood out though, he had a few quality passes through the defence. Austin had a presence in the middle and sprayed a few good passes around. Norris seemed average but timed his runs into the box well, hence the goal, and I reckon that's what we'll see from him this season - doesn't do much but can grab some goals. I wasn't impressed with Green at all. He looked really poor. Shocking first touch, gave the ball away a few times. I don't know whether he'll improved, because he played a few decent passes, but then cancelled them out with some shockers. He did press well though.
My mate thought Peltier really stood out as a class act, he also commented that he wouldn't care if he never saw Green in a Leeds shirt again. I think we need to give them all a few games to get accustomed to each other, the true test will come Saturday onwards when we start playing teams in the same league
Good to hear good reviews about Peltier. Hopefully Lees will be back fit for Wolves though so we can get Peltier playing in his preferred RB position. Byram sounds like a hell of a prospect from everything I've heard. Would it be worth sending him out on loan, or since he's already pretty close to the first 11, could just keep hold of him for back-up
My summary: Kenny- A few decent saves. Awesome distribution- kicking early pinpoint long balls to wide players in space. One howler when he dropped a cross at the feet of the striker - god knows how he missed. Calm on ball when needed Byram- Shaky start. Grew into game. Gets forward ok and is fairly composed on the ball. Might struggle against a fast powerful winger. Peltier- My MoM. Dominant. And his pace allowed him to make up for a few errors pearce made early on. Pearce- Shaky start. Not the quickest. Proved that he will throw his head or body in front of anything like he claimed he would. Got more composed into the 2nd half White- Defended ok. Only got forward once or twice but looked threatening when he did. Suffered abit from a lack of cover from the left winger as varney drifted inside. Green- Very poor on the ball. Offers little going forward. But does press well and works very hard. Could be handy to have his engine in midfield when playing saturday-tuesday. Not a winger at all! Austin- Impressive. Composed on ball. Decent distribution. Strong tackler. Good in the air. Very fierce shot on him. Might get into trouble if he tries some of the turns and tricks yesterday in th eleague. Norris- Anonymous 1st half. Got into game second half. Well taken goal. Put himself about. Ok passing. A few very good through balls. Varney- Solid performance. Wont go flying past the full back. Loves drifting inside. His ability to beat the full back in the air from cross field balls will be an asset throughout the season. Mccormack- Great game. Worked hard. Got in dangerous areas to shoot but was a team player and opted to slot the pass through instead. Must keep him! Becchio- Ran around alot. Got alot of rough treatment from the CBs. Still doesnt look back to his best. Will always poach a fair amount of goals though. Diouf- Mixed reception. Id say it sounded like there were 3 equal sized camps. Those cheering, those booing, and those 'diouffffffing'. Didnt get into many dangerous areas but didnt give the ball away at all. Decent debut Overall- 6/10. Fairly solid but must up it for Wolves and be quicker out of the blocks. This might come as the team gel more
Pelts played well atCB for us in Cup games, dont play him there in the league though. He got found out for us there and also at RB. Take my advice, dont get your hopes up on him. If youre happy with mid table, average players then he'll be fine for you. He can also fill in at CDM. Who is your right sided midfielder/winger? Pelts does not support wingers, dont expect overlapping runs from him, he'll always try to cut in and play it simple. Sideways passing that led to us losing the ball in the middle of the park. I hope he does do well, but he wasnt anything remotely good enough when with us.
To be honest nor were the rest of your team last season and you spent a fortune !!, but good luck for the season as long as we stay strong we wil do ok.
It seems like mixed reviews from your support, you are someone that doesn't think much of him however I have spoke to leicester that think he's great
I'm not saying I think he's great, I think he is average and we coulda got better especially for the fee but I am prepared to see whether he can do better in the leeds united team than the leicester team. I have however spoken to Leicester fans that thought he was a good player and wanted to keep him
Well I hope not, coz that means while he is decent, you can get considerably better for the same price
