evening all :)...hasn't it been a great sporting evening! Must admit, when i got home from the match tonight, i didn't feel like we'd won...but we did, and that's great going forward. Onwards and upwards eh? We're still in the Capital One cup at least!

Great stuff from all the athletes again tonight. Having watched quite a few Olympics now I do believe that I have been privileged to watch the London ones, that certainly compare with the best. Sometimes the country does make you proud of it's ability to put on such an event even if you don't live there anymore.

even the most anti-Olympics people before the games seem to be proud of what was achieved. It's been incredible, the atmosphere has been amazing, the roads have been quiet (always a bonus)...and it seems to have run incredibly smoothly, with the tiniest details though of, and everyone in a purple uniform can be proud of what they achieved. I never saw one without a smile, a kind word, a touch of excitment. Great people involved, paid and unpaid, and for once, there are many people who are proud to be British. I wonder how long it will last!

Absolutely OFH - I think that Britain has showed the world that it is possible to host an Olympics based on the founding principles of the Olympics and not on the corruption and pocket-lining that has been rife in previous Olympics and is so obviously still prevalent in FIFA. I have been addicted to watching sports that I have even been aware of....BUT most of all I have fallen back in love with sports where the participants are so over come with their success that you can only be over come with them. Just to watch the boxer tonight when he won his Gold....it makes you feel human again...

Morning all from a sunny bandit country..chill out day with the annual battle with Mrs W_Y over holiday packing - why does she wait until I am just zipping the bags up to add another handbag?

Morning all, frantic start as there is a 60th Birthday Party to go to at midday and Mme said she would provide some food. I was sent off to the fields to find some salad that could go with it.

After the party we have family coming over from England this evening and the house has to be re-organised to accomodate them. Then Thursday we are off to the coast with them, so packing to be sorted for that.

Apart from that there is watering to be carried out as normal, I really could do with a day of rain. Yesterday afternoon it reached 37C which is just too hot. Today there is some cloud about and it should be a little cooler.

Do what I do, w-y - tell her the clue is in the name. It's a handbag, if she wants to take it she should carry it.

    Well, I did it once......:emoticon-0127-lipss

Closing ceremony is getting better as it goes along - Ed Sheeran singing Pink Floyd!, how off the wall is that.
Well after a very smooth week-end at work and everything has been moved into production one of my guys finds the issue. 2800 customer records not created correctly - out of a total of 49K, so not great. Techies and the vendor are writing a fix and need to apply and test before France opens at 07.00 - could be a long night!

Morning all from an overcast bandit country - it was a late night as predicted and supposed to be on holiday today to clear up before flying out tomorrow, but on conference calls all morning. But come lunchtime I am closing down and my holiday head will be on!

Really enjoyed the closing ceremony, and these last 17 days have brought back some national pride. A very good job done from all involved, and was good to see the volunteers get the recognition too

Must admit, a few bits of the ceremony I didn't like... George Michael's 2nd song (and his dancing) and Russell Brand (can't stand the guy) but there was somethign for everyone, and you can't please all the people, all the time :)
