At my mates so typing this on my phone...watching late kick off and Jose was interviewed (video and everything).

Basically they asked about his contract, he said "I'm in my last year...if I have to stay here I'll stay here, if I have to go somewhere else in England I'll go there, if I have to leave this league then I'll leave this league..."

All the rhetoric about focussing on his football, focusing on keeping us in the premiership but the above quote was the most important....it'll be on inlayer in a day or 2 so u can all see and make ur minds up but personally I think that's him away in the summer!

EDIT: Other things he said, some paraphrased 'cause I can't remember it word for word:

"This club is different to when I first came" (I'm guessing he's talking about Europe)

"I don't want to talk about my contract now, I want to get this club safe" (In keeping with what he said all along, but I personally think this is the usual rhetoric you hear from player and PR team alike)

"I'm happy, I'm happy with the way I'm playing, I'm happy in England" (this was before he said about staying/going elsewhere)

He just had to say he would stay for the rest of his career didnt he? Why do they so blatantly lie to us?

At what point does he say he's leaving?

He stay if he wants or he'll leave if asked to - that's what he saying not "I'm off!" <doh>

Actually if that is right he did say "I'll leave if I have to" implies he doesnt want to go.

Aye, it's the same old same old though isn't it!

I loved Jose, seeing him score that goal against Forest is one of the best moments from last year, but if he joins the bin dippers then **** him, he's just another player in this league!

I would think in the way that well maybe he does want to stay, but we all know what is going to happen.

You can look at it either way.

He is saying he will stay if he has to or he will leave if he has to.

We have to remember his English is poor. I think only he knows what the hell he meant to say.

We can't assume nothing to be honest. Let's just relax and wait until the end of the season IMO.

    As I said

But as far as I'm concerned he's off...He didn't blatantly say "I'm leaving" because no player ever will...Even when Rooney/Tevez put their transfer requests in they didn't come out in an interview and say it did they? It's about common sense, and common sense say's he's off

To be fair I think deep down we all have a good inkling that he's off, his lack of response (until now) in the media and his removal of Newcastle fans from his Facebook were the first warning signs and the evidence for his departure is now approaching a full dossier.
It's unfortunate and perhaps made all the more so by him coming out with that spiel about wanting to stay here his whole career (maybe he meant it at the time, who knows?), but we just have to accept it and hope that we manage to bring in a replacement just as good, if not better.

So much for wanting to sign a new contract once we're mathematically safe...

Not so sure about this one. English isn't his first language and it doesn't really make much sense.

He said "I'm in my last year" which could mean the last year of his contract.

He then says "If I have to stay here I'll stay here" which sounds bad...

But he also says "If I have to go somewhere else in England I'll go there"

"If I have to leave this league then I'll leave this league"

It doesn't sound like he's saying he wants to go but if he HAS to stay here then he will. It sounds more like he knows he's still on a contract, so he's at the mercy of the contract, and will do whatever is decided for him - whether he's staying put, sold to another EPL club or sold to a club in another league.

I'd have to see his tone of voice to get a better idea though.

In fact, if what I've said is true, then that's more worrying, as he seems to imply that Pards/Ashley are the types who are trying to flog players. Perhaps he knows something we don't.

Aye, like I said it's all down to personal interpretation, but I personally think it's nailed on. English isn't his first language but in the past he has managed to say he wants to "stay here forever" so I don't see that is necessarily the issue...Hopefully he'll stay, but I'm not holding my breath, right now I'm just praying he doesn't go to the bin dippers!

To be fair if he went to a champions league team I wouldn't mind. But if he goes to the bin dippers I'll go ****ing mad :steam: :emoticon-0121-angry

If he joins Liverpool, scousers will suffer. I might email them to let them know this. Surely they wouldn't sign a player if it meant their supporters getting maimed by a savage Geordie.

I'm still gutted reading **** like this day in, day out. Yes I think he'll be away, I can't see anything else other than him going to Liverfuckingpool but a small part of me is still thinking he'll stay and we'll build on what could easily be a top six team with a little more investment.
