Before the closing ceremony gets too embarrassing and hoping Al Qaeda or the IRA don't have one up the sleeve I want to say well done the organisers, volunteers, armed forces, athletes and everyone else.

Half the world thought, and hoped, we would fail. We haven't. Go on Raymond

Closing cereminies are a little bit gay but this is pretty good.

    Roll on the paralympics.

<laugh> if you live here (and I genuinely don't know whether or not you do) get yourself to the Paralympics - almost sold out already - well that's hoping it's not all corporate tickets obviously!

Fair dos Irish - I bit big time and should not have. My old man's actually from Cork (I never liked hurling anyway <doh>.) so I'm always in both camps. Katie Taylor was one of my highlights

Sorry. It has been a great Olympics but Russell Brand just ruined it. £7bn wasted.

<laugh> it is ending on a downer - I'm looking forward to Jordan officially closing them <yikes>. More importantly, are we going to beat Donegal in the football?

Must say I have actually been impressed, apart from a few little things it's been practically flawless - and the home crowd got more than enough reasons to cheer.

As entertaining as it was though £10 billion is a hefty bill for two weeks of great sport - let's hope we can derive some long term value out of it.

Yes, Donegal shall be beaten. I was at the league match earlier in the year (the only game Cork have lost this year) and I reckon Cork have them sussed.

Check out the GAA page. A Donegal guy has put a cracking song on the old you tube.

Cork got well beaten in the Hurling today. Hurling needs to be in the Olympics.

    Come on the Spice Girls.

Met him at Croke Park last year. He thought he was Liam Gallagher. Most negative side in the history of the GAA. Bar none.

I imagine that there will be some complaints about George Michael wearing a crucifix on stage.

    HERE COME THE SPICE GIRLS

I know - In watched it. My local shows all the games. I don't know the players etc. but do love watching it. For me the one big shame about London was that we did not get to play rugby 7s and it's held over till Rio. They missed a big trick there as a weekend at Twickenham would have made it even more amazing, I guess Glasgow will just have to do it for us in 2014 in the Commonwealths (and i think that's going to be brilliant as well, provided they include east Kilbride's finest...) I'm with you on including hurling <laugh>

    7's would have been class.

My two moans were there not being a full programme for wimmin boxers and the flame not being seen outside the ground......that is nitpicking.

I think most of the complaints will have been about George Micheal being on stage
