Faye is surprising good on the ball for a big bloke, but I'd hate to see him against a pacey striker, he's slower than an arthritic tortoise.

McShane looked like he always looks, loads of passion, but absolutely no skill, he looks like a man possessed.

The combination of Chester and Faye seemed OK though. Faye is slow but Chester is rather pacey. So there's the brute plus the speed. Should be alright.

I was embarrassed when I heard some of my fellow fans in E3 booing him as he came on.

He and McShane both looked OK, but I stand by my opinion of young Alex being utter ****e.

Agree with your assessment of Alex Bruce but James Chester would be wasting his time joining a PL team at the moment. Far too many goin on about Chester leaving and Burnsy was at it again with Bruce snr on saturday. If there was any chance of Chester being sold we would have gone for Turner imo.

It worked @ Man Utd with Gary Pallister and Steve Bruce(one big - one small). Chester and Faye look well suited from what ive seen so far. For sure we wont get bullied by other teams big men with Faye about. Prossy also looks good at defending.

Meh. Last year we would have lost 3-1. That's something.

It's ridiculous really, if we're talking about loaning Cooper out then we should probably be looking at bringing another defender in to ensure we've got 2 players for each position and yet people are suggesting that signing Bruce means we must be about to sell someone. I'm happier having Bruce here than not if it means players like Cooper and Bradley will get loans that allow them to play 30+ games this season rather than sitting on the bench for us watching Chester and Faye/Hobbs knowing that only an injury will see them get game time.

Chester will polish his game if he plays alongside Faye .
He does make some errors often with short back paces but that is communication with the goalie which will only improve with time.

Just watched Burnsey interview with SB on Tiger player, and he said to SB that Chester is the best centre back he has seen as city in the last 20 years.

Bruce started well for leeds when they had him but soon went down hill after a few weeks into the season, they conceded way to many last year

at first sight, faye just gives me hideous flashbacks of sonko. then i realise, just like Dallas, its all a dream and sonko never existed. faye looks a good addition to me and perhaps surpasses hobbs' as permanent fixture. well for 12 months anyway
