Holloway needs to relax before he has a heart attack. He is constantly raging about one thing or another. He is still furious we went up over them, at St Mary's he was absolutely irate when scored at the end. Hopefully we manage to actually sign Phillips or Ince so he blows a fuse completely at us

 

Blackpool are 1-0 down at home to Morecambe in the league cup! Maybe Holloway should concentrate on managing the team rather than making up bullshit about Saints tapping up his player.

Could be a number of reasons.

1. As you said, causing a stir causing us to give it the "pfft **** this" approach and looking elsewhere.
2. Alert other teams to serious interest in him to cause a bidding war and drive up the price.
3. Save face to the fans - "we tried to keep him but they cheated and stole him, don't hate us".

Probably more too.

Cups are only for run outs for Saints this season. Not important until we are in the semi-finals They have effectively reduced Phillips value, so I guess that aren't selling him.

 

Would hope the cup ties would be for the younguns anyway

 

It's only the League Cup, he'd only come off the bench at most. Unless we get really far.

 

Is this "tapping" any different to the methods used by Arsenal re Theo and Oxo or Chelsea and Luke Shaw?
