Looking ominous but best to play them early in the season when hopefully they know less about us and are not as fit. The only problem with playing lots of the big teams early on is that we do not want to be on zero points or adrift at the bottom early on. A win against Wigan would be a good remedy, but sadly they are no longer the average team they used to be but are certainly still beatable. 3-4 points from our opening four games would be good, a point a game this season will suffice it is just we have been spoilt in the last few seasons and now expect solely victories!
Same. Until today I had never considered the possibility we would be completely outplayed by the best team in the country and one of the best teams in the world, not sure how to cope with this sudden realisation, might have a mental breakdown.
For me he was basically our top player who isn't called Rickie from when we signed him up until he got injured last season. Then he was out for a month which also happened to coincide with us going on a bad run in about January-February. It wasn't Aaron Martin's fault but we missed Fonte more than you might realise. He probably got outshone a bit and then for some reason the crowd turned against him and got almost vitriolic. And now he is everyone's least favourite player. He'll be back and he'll play a lot for us this season, the problem is not Fonte but that we need another defender. But most of you probably knew that already.
But what about the 12 games before that? He played every minute and we conceded five goals, and didn't lose.
I'm not an anti-Fonte person,I quite like him,I think he is a good defender, but he does make a few too many mistakes too often that if he does as many mistakes in the prem then we will suffer.
You boys a fan of the Latin look? It's easy to forget the feeling of being an overwhelming underdog for a league game. But bar 2 or 3 teams no one is going to city with serious expectations of winning
