Soopermack you are saying he is not on £100K a week and then go on to 'guess' at £60k a week. You can't complain at others for their supposition and then provide your own. Nobody is decrying De Jong but we have 18,000 crowds and have to live within a certain budget, just feel he is an excellent player but out of our current budget. When we have a stadium holding 30/40.000 then we may be able to look at this type of player. Lets enjoy the banter and live within our means until that time.
Don't post before you read because it only makes you look stupid! He stated he is on £100k as if he knew as fact! I said if I had to GUESS, big difference because I'm not saying know. If he's on £100k a week, why would he go to inter when they're selling, amongst other, their goalie because they can't afford to pay £85k a week... And if we did buy him it would be because the club feel they can afford him donut...
It's a guess based on the fact that he joined just before the wages sky rocketed at city, he wasn't signed from another huge club, there's been several stories both this season and last about him leaving and none said it would be tough because he's on £100k+ a week like with ade bridge and others. He also wasn't a big name when he signed, that's what I base my educated guess on, not plucking figures from the air. And when I talk about players I'd like us to buy, I'm not going to write about it being based on if we can afford their wages and if they're value for money because most people on here understand that's an obvious given. And I leave that to the common sense of our board and manager!
Not really, just prefer it when people don't use simple throw away comments on a debate, without offering an explanation or reasons why. I've had people offering a different view to mine and I've agreed with, or changed my mind. And if I don't agree I still think others points are excellent when they back it up with their reasons why. I haven't argued with others on this thread who have opposed me. But you are entitled to feel this way and not obliged to read my posts or follow my threads.
