This is why I think Fletcher is way overpriced I know MoN prefers British players but surely we have looked overseas especially as the best English style of centre forward since Mary Poppins was The Drog!

It is scandalous what you pay for british players. I am shocked Wolves are knocking back 12m and 9m for Jarvis and Fletcher. Both very good players but as that article mentions, it looks completely ridiculous when compared with what some continental players have moved for. 21m for two players when you have just been relegated? Then we have Allen moving to Liverpool for 15m!
British players are over priced and over rated. However as long as these prices continue our league will continue to be flooded with cheap imports stifling young British talent. Clubs need to get real.
The problem is they are getting real as you put it, this 25 man squad rule is ruling out going and buying lots of players from abroad (1 or 2 fine but you cant go and have all french players anymore as an example), the work permit rule stops clubs like us getting players from abroad, only ones we can get are already established internationals, and that means they go for silly money, which means only to top teams can afford them. So the end result is, buy British, and pay through the nose for them.
