In all fairness, he did want a three-year deal. Although I'm sure that was more out of financial security for the later stages of his career as opposed to loyalty.
Koren couldn't have looked less interested yesterday, he was a completely different player once he moved into the middle, he might be more than capable of playing on the wing, but he couldn't make it more obvious that he doesn't want to.
It will be very interesting next Saturday. Hopefully we can have Aluko and Stewart on the wings with Koren + McKenna/ANO in the centre mid. Koren and Evans looked a really good pairing at the Amex. Patience everyone!
He probably would have played him out of position so you're right to be happy, it's probably the first time a move wouldn't suit either club or the player (other than financially), but if you think Koren's age is important then you can't really know how Koren plays the game. Unless someone comes in and snaps his leg (which can happen to any player) I'll be amazed if Koren's game in 3 or 4 years' time is different to how he plays now, or even how he played when he first joined West Brom. There's pretty much nothing in his game that should deteriorate due to getting older until he's in his late 30s when stamina might be more of an issue (although he's hardly a hard worker now so can't see it).
