with the way we have played in pre season and being the sort of guy he is he won't settle for second best, the guy has a fabulous record in the premier league and he is not going to let the bunch of dross that we currently we have ruin his record.

With us already reducing the wage bit by quite a bit this summer I would not be surprised if it is reduced further, Bramble, Kilgallon, Cattermole and Campbell are all entering there last year and then there is the possibility of Meyler and Wickham going out on loan as well as the constant talk of Richardson and Elmohamady moving on. IMO at the minute we need 6 new players to come in and freshen us as well as adding that quality that we are seriously lacking, if anyone else goes from the lot above bar Meyler and Elmohamady they will need replacing to so its going to be a very busy last three weeks I would imagine.

MoN aint a fool he knows we have a poor squad and come this time next season I think there will only be 5 or 6 players still here out of the current squad.

I am getting worried that we have only brought 1 in but I'm sure that over the next 3weeks will will bring at least 5 in, if not its going to be a very, very long hard season.

If not, it's gonna be relagation based on our pre season results. I am one worried fan at the min.

4-6 does not work (unless you are Spain or Barca and you have a few Messi's around), MoN inspired miracles when he first arrived and goals flowed from midfield, they dried up towards the end of the season. Teams do not fear us anymore cos' we lack a credible and visible goal threat. I also suspect we go out o the pitch atm knowing we are up against it, watching the Olympics and the amazing athletes performing there shows just how important a positive mindset is before you go out to perform

I personally do not necessarily think that Fletcher is the answer but if MoN does than I would give the Scot a chance to prove me wrong, something I would not have a problem with. Yes the biggest problem for any club is getting strikers in and perhaps NE clubs and probably Sunderland in particular have a problem cos' of the area and low profile of the club..C'mon MoN weave your magic lets have 2 great strikers in.

Yesterday's game IMHO also showed that Bramble is just too slow, Catts could and perhaps some said should have been sent off (so no change there then..he may shout a lot on the pitch but jack C is better than him and Catts slot needs to be taken by a creative midfielder.

I think part of the problem may be the city of Sunderland itself. As I was walking round the town on Thursday it struck me how much of a dump the place is. Maybe pro footballers who are very shallow people do prefer Newcastle. The irony of this is that the taxes the people of Sunderland have paid over the years has seen heavy investment in Newcastle whilst Sunderland has been completely ignored. However, if we can't get a bloke to leave Wolverhampton we are well and truly ****ed.

Really don't think this makes a difference as a lot of our players live away from Sunderland anyway's, just like Bent did.

    agreed

the footballer's will rarely go into Sunderland to socialize, if I played for Sunderland I wouldn't live in Sunderland and if I wanted to go somewhere I would go to Newcastle, its a better city, more to do and better places to go.

My concern about bringing 6-7m players in means we are virtually building from scratch again. FFs we should be in a better position than that.

We look on paper a damn weaker team than last years and appear to be on the decline again. Get the investment in the squad sorted. Has Randy Lerner had a word with ES and Mr Short isn't keen on giving MON a lot of money meaning we have to make do with the bairns?

we wont be getting rid of that many players and we wont be getting 5/6 new players either imo getting half a squad of players doesnt work and mon seems quite happy with what he has, once we have 1/2 decent strikers we will be alright, he is bringing in the youth aswel ktf lads

People said that about Michael Owen along with a few others.

He know's where the back of the net and seems a natural goalscorer, that is something very rare.

I would throw him in at the deep-end because these last 10mins here and there are no good, give the lad a few starts so he can bang 1 in and watch where he goes from there.

We need at the very least 2 top strikers.

I think we need a lot more to be honest.
