While I appreciate that the transport links were much better at Stoneham, I'll put my old environmental hat on, if I can find it, and be glad that Saints actually utilised a brown-field site, rather than breaking into a semi green-field site, that was to be the stadium area. I still have hopes that Saints and Network Rail can get around to talking about a Wayside Halt outside the stadium, to let football passengers alight there. The old Boat Train line runs behind St Marys, and it would seem to be silly not to make use of it, at some point in the future. If the club stays at St Marys, of course.

Chanrai threatening to walk away, as the admin are due 1.8m for their work. Chanrai obviously doesn't want to pay that.

Maybe Chanrai could come to some arrangement (£1.8 million x 0.02 = £36,000 do you think that what he is haggleing for?)

I'm fully aware that there are nutters on both ends of the M27 and that local rag websites are where they like to fester, but...as only the second comment I bothered to read it's fairly funny:

"The first thing we should do is spend more moeny on players, the tax man can't get us, they tried before so why now, lets get spending boys!!!! Can't wait, lets do it the corrupt way to annoy those idiots down the road!!! SPEND SPEND SPEND! PUP PUP PUP!!!"

I think the whole debacle has got to this poor chap.

I saw that comment, I'm pretty sure that's a Southampton fan pretending to be a Portsmouth fan.

There's a lot of that going on, half the SW lot have been impersonating Pompey fans on The News site. It's getting hard to tell who is Saint and who is Skate. Bit silly really. Not to mention one or two openly bragging that they'd pledged money to the PST but will renege on the pledge, which is petty and rather sad. 'Get a life' is the phrase which springs to mind.

Maybe it's a Pompey fan pretending to be a saints fan pretending to be a Pompey fan! Classic double bluff.

Chanrai to go ahead with take over at Portsmouth if administrators reduce their charges. Good luck with that. Administrators protect their earnings otherwise why would you step in and work with a business on the skids.

Birch won't want to be the one to liquidate the club.

And PST doesn't have the funds realistically...

Out of town could be the other side of the City instead. Much more than 5 minutes of walking away. Generally, I don't hold with football clubs moving out of the centre of communities within the City they started in. Saints moved from St Marys and returned, and at least they stayed within the city boundaries during the time. It's OK for County Cricket clubs to move out, as their representation is wider, but football clubs..? No. Ideally, you stay in the city where you started.

Don't know why people go on about transport links to SMS. The ground is within the City so can be easily reached by most locals. Buses are provided from the ferry and is walkable anyway. There is a main line station with bus links and again is walkable. Too many people think you should be able to park 2 ft from the front. It's not in the middle of the Gobi desert for heavens sake.

Is that the one with the little train that goes up a sort of pier, SF4L?

I really would like to have a go on that!

What is there to do in Hythe? Any good restaurants, art galleries or museums, that sort of thing?

Yes, lovely little ferry (well the older ferry is anyway, not keen on the new one) with great views etc (Just ignore the horrendously bad new green colour scheme )

In terms of Hythe, there isn't much to do there to be perfectly honest unless it's a sunny day and you can take a picnic or takeaway to the very nice waterfront and see all the cruise liners and shipping movements (either the promenade, prospect place or hythe marina)

Hythe's greatest strengths are it's Ferry, Waterfront & The New Forest - it's very charity shops and old people shops that don't appeal to me. There are a few restraunts - Seashells overlooking Southampton Water I would reccomend deffo and are a few independent's I have never been to. There are a few nice shops but as I say, many are aimed at the old people.

    Hope that helps <ok>

Marvelous, thanks very much indeed. I saw the train on Soccer AM, where the guy does the Danny Dyer, I'm a cockerney, bit. If there are some nice walks to be had, I will pay Hythe a visit in the near future, you can be sure of it.
