So, with the season almost over thought I'd throw an idea out there for next year to add a bit of spice to the season (in a similar way that the fantasy football has done). Idea is to predict the score for Liverpool's games along with a goal scorer and points will be awarded for correct predictions. It would be based only on Liverpool games so wouldn't take too much time and probably only include League & domestic cup games (domestic means not Europe in case the Chelsea WUM is reading this...). Scoring would be - 5 points for correct score 2 points for correct result 5 points for correct goal scorer (doesn't have to be 1st scorer) 5 point bonus if your named goal scorer gets a hatrick 10 points if you correctly predict 0-0 I'll post a weekly thread where you can make your predictions and I shall collate all the scores after the game and post the league tables in the following few days to allow you to precict the next result as well. Like I said, it's an idea and if there is enough interest then I'll start things off next year.
Great idea! This sort of thing has been done on other boards and it would create a bit of competition between all of us.
I'd like to see something predicting the final table at the start of the season aswell, and doing stuff like top scorer, rate our signings out of 10 etc because most people on here always say "Oh we should've signed Y instead of X" but when the actual transfer was being done you don't find anyone really objecting to it. Just a couple of ideas really to add to this.
Biscan giving himself an extra competition to try and win after losing the battle in the FL. I'm in, especially as they took away 'I know the score'. I think there is a rule on the Spuds board where you are penalised -1 point for not entering your predictions. Should help keep people keen.
I don't think I stand a chance at this one though! Fail misrably on Sky's Super 6 predictions every week! -1 point sounds good. If anyone has any other suggestions for scoring system then I'm happy to hear.
Don't know if people are still up for this. Hopefully few more people might join in now we are closer to the season. Some point next week (probably Tuesday/Wednesday) I'll post a new thread detailing all the rules (probably what is in the OP plus Zingy's suggestion of -1 if you don't make a prediction but let me know if any more suggestions) and there you can make you're prediction for our first game of the season v West Brom. I'll post a weekly table a few days after the game where you can see how you've done and make your prediction for the following week.
Sounds good! Only set it up if you know you can follow it through to the end though! I'd suggest setting it up soon; over the next week hopefully we'll have all of our usual users come on at some point so they have the opportunity to join.
Bearing any major issues with computers/internet etc no problem seeing it through to the end. Just hopefully we have enough numbers to keep it interesting till the end.
