I was really confused at the start when he sat back and was running in last position, but he knew exactly what he was doing and completely owned it. Legend.
Well done Mo...ran a great race. Tom Daley has been allowed to retake a poor dive because of all the flash photography. Then nailed it. Will be a discussion point.
What's to discuss? Flash photography is banned during the diving events. All the other divers can request retakes, it's up to the judges if they get to or not.
28 golds...wow I was hoping we'd reach 20 this Olympics but 28 is beyond my hopes and expectations. Any chance of 30 before the Games end tomorrow?
YES! Freddie Evans fights a Kazakh in the Welterweight at 2.15pm, and Anthony Joshua an hour later in the Super Heavy, against Italy. Liam Killeen goes in the mountain biking as an outside hope. That's about it, unless we have any female modern pentathletes I don't know about. Daley sits in third right now and has a chance here.
Anthony Joshua is a good favourite to win in Super Heavyweights, Freddie Evans isn't favourite but boxing is never a foregone conclusion.
For him to medal at all after his poor start in the competition is amazing. He also said he will peak in 2016..we mustn't forget he is only 18.
With a couple of real medal prospects for GB coming on the last day [tune in early, it all ends mid-afternoon], it brings to an end the best Olympics in my lifetime. I came into this fairly uninterested. I come away not wanting it to end. I have felt a national pride which international football had utterly killed stone dead. Yet even the UK football team managed to bring a little spark back. And in every sport, we've seen athletes perform their hardest and beyond. This last two weeks of competition has topped every other sporting event that has gone before, bar none, as far as I'm concerned, including England 1966. After Sunday it's goodbye London 2012. You succeeded beyond my wildest expectations. Ah well, I suppose we'll have to put up with Premier League football. It's hardly in same one as the Olympics.
Girl who won judo silver now on TV with arm in sling. Turns out she broke her thumb early in the competition and has now had surgery. Real guts.
Pity she's not on the show now. Cameron's on there jumping on the band wagon as usual. She could do one of her Ippons on him.
Not exactly jumping on the bandwagon...this Government and the previous one were involved in backing the bid and help with funding. Have to say I'm very sad it all has to finish...it's been great in all aspects. Everyone has been talking about it, even those with little interest in sport. Together with the Jubilee, this has been a great year for the feel good factor at a time when things have been difficult for so many during the economic down turn.
It is sad it's all over but the Paralympics is still to come which should be pretty good - and it's more or less sold out which is pretty special when you think about it.
