New season kicks off in a week and only one player signed.
I do trust MoN and keep telling myself tommorrow will be the day I look on the internet and see the headline black cats sign ?

But now I'm worried we just can't start the season with our current squad we will be ****ed.

I feel the longer we leave
It the more we will have to pay to get who we want.

    I'm ****ting pineapples.

We have a good team, if they start handing out 3 points for scoring zero.

    Anyone up for a petition?

Same thoughts here. We have some dodgy defenders, an underwhelming midfield with flashes of quality from Sess and great promise from Maclean. However, our 'forwards' have hardly got a goal between them.

At least if there are no expectations we can't be disappointed...

Seriously though, the longer this transfer window drags on without anything happening the more I think this season could be an impending disaster, people keep saying that other teams haven't bought either, but most of them don't need to buy as badly as we do!

    We're set in goal.

Our defence was class last season. Turner out, Cuellar in. Improvement in my eyes. A left back would be nice. Not a huge problem if not but if Olsson comes we're laughing.

Midfield's a funny one. Sess, Mac, Larsson, Colback. I rate them really highly as players but think we could do with pace on the right and a centre mid who offers something going forward.

    Upfront... Enough said.

We're good enough to stay up currently. We're not good enough to do anything better.

Olsson, Fletcher, Guidetti and a midfielder of MONs choosing and we have a good side.

    In my eyes anyway.

I'm quite shocked there hasn't been way more transfer activity. We had two appaling runs last season, and, with a now weaker squad, i can't see how things are going to get any better. Plus, we wont have that new manager effect that saved us mid-season. Definitely worrying.

I can't understand how we've waited so long given the massive weaknesses in our squad. We couldn't afford to. Clubs are going to rinse us now, whenever we make an approach for their players. We should have had our sights on a large number of top players, knowing we couldn't afford to head into the season with what we have.

I can only hope im very much surprised by some of the players, cos some of them are going to have to start showing themselves to be better than they've ever shown in the past!

No forwards in = probable relegation battle IMO

I feel confident that we will sign 2/3 players in the areas we need to strengthen, but it worries me that we are not prepared to start the season...3 points is 3 points regardless of when in the season you get them and we have to get every 3 point haul we can if we want to keep moving forward.

We aren't getting three points at Arsenal so I wouldn't worry too much. If it had been a game like Stoke, West Ham or QPR I'd have been more worried.

I must be the only one that thinks Whickam, Ji, Noble, Campbell will be a success next season, if they get game time, problem is if we do buy 2 strikers, they wont get the time.

Is it a risk, yes of course it is, but then so is Fletcher and Defoe or anyone else we may be going after. I just dont think its all doom and gloom, or we dont have any strikers at all scenario.

We are possibly the only supporters of clubs who were in the Premier league who could be openly be seen to be contemplating relegation before a ball is kicked.

Lets keep it in check and see what happens, its a long season which ebbs and flows so to be so downcast before hand is being a negative imho.

Nobody is more frustrated than I about the lack of activity - however at least we are not buying mediocrity which is available in spades and is what Bruce would have done - MON wants quality signings and these players are more scarce.

At the very least we are going to have a squad which with MON will have had time to work with in close season training and I'm optimistic that we will see an improvement in the performances in the players we have.

The most we can get there is a point maybe a win if RVP leaves

On the new forum lot of people think Vermalen will score first I cant see that to be honest I can see a 0-0 draw

Plus Arsenal are not renowned for being the best starters of a season.

With Cazorla, Podolski and Giroud in, Arsenal look a very decent side this year. If RVP stays for the final year of his contract they look flaming scary. Goals and assists everywhere in the team.

We'll lose the game but it's Arsenal away, a loss isn't embarrassing.

And they are in talks with Sahin from Madrid on loan but Swansea are also going to ask madrid for some players Reading look tough to beat Pog and Fabio new signings so we really need new signings otherwise were screwed

People are too quick to take the negatives and not even consider the positives - there was a transformation when MON took over, however a few injuries with poor results and our heads dropped, with the Everton result taking the wind and confidence out of our sails.

Ideally we would have bought in signings in the mid season transfer window however the quality is not available - it is just not there - look at who MON brought in as cover Bridge and Zorba - both were poor.

What does the club do - gamble on over priced mediocrity, pay way over the odds to try and winkle a player from a club or keep our funds so that when a quality player does become available we can pounce.

I think a lot of supporters think the club can wave a magic wand and conjure players out of thin air- there is a lack of quality players available and the transfer market is egg bound - until players start coming in others will not start moving out to clubs like ours.

I think we've made all the signings we're going to make, it's obvious no-one wants to come to us, if they wanted too they would have already signed, like I said before, how long does it take to negotiate a deal, MON started by saying he wanted new signings in before the start of the season, one week left & we've made Cuellar the only signing, MON now states he's happy to wait till after the season starts, to me that's shows there's a problem somewhere, as for Fletcher, Wolves can keep him & we should move on, we could offer £20 mill for him, then they would want £25 mill, good luck for the new season, I think we'll need it!

It's the clubs that don't want to sell. I think!

Fletcher clearly wants a move, he handed in a transfer request.

    We'll get a couple. I hope.
