I'm getting a bit fed up with people saying its not an issue with not scoring in our last 3 games, RUBBISH! What's the point in having strikers on the pitch if we ain't going to score. We don't have the strikers to compliment the midfield and we are going to struggle to find the back of the net unless we get a top notch striker in! I said before the end of last season that we must not rest on our lorals and need to improve our starting XI unless we will regret it and atm I see no real improvement in our best XI. We still have over half our transfer budget remaining, it needs to be spent!

My concern is Hughton seems determined to play Holt up top on his own. When given the choice last season it was Morison all day long when we used just one striker. Holt always plays better when somebody else is alongside him and IMO plays his best when partnered with Jackson.

Perhaps Hughton is aware that Morison will have played a good chunk of the Wales game before next Saturdays opener against Fulham and is trying other systems as a result.

More that a bit worrying that the goals have dried up, teams that don't score go down in the prem I'm afraid !

I tend to agree with you. How many times was Howson in an advanced (Hoolahan-esque) position only to look up, see no options ahead and pass back deep into his own half. E Bennett run his socks off, got into good wide positions very frequently first half, but was rarely picked out by his team mates.

Too little incisive or decisive use of the ball from Norwich - of which we had plenty, unlike versus Ajax. Our opponents, however, showed time and time again how to intercept the ball, and within half a dozen intelligent diagonal passes, they were approaching our penalty area - although that's largely where their creativity ran out.
Ruddy had little to do apart from pick the ball out after 7 and 89 minutes.

Agree about Turner and R. Bennett, if they stay fit we have the nucleus of a solid defence and they'll improve once they've played a few more games together. I saw Hughton quoted/misquoted last week as saying 'we've got enough options upfront' or words to that effect. So why Holt with Snodgrass behind, and no sign of a second striker until Jackson got seven or eight minutes at the end? If it hadn't worked in 83 it was unlikely to work at all?

I don't know if the Bundesliga are ahead of us in preparation etc, but if Fulham play anywhere near as well as Monchengladbach, we're in for a torrid time next weekend.

I seriously do hope this is not the case. For a lot of last season I was "head in hands" when seeing we were not playing 4-4-2, especially at home. From what I have read I really do hope CH has seen the same as the guys saying "1 up" isn't working and he does something to change it. If we play just Holt up front, we're likely to struggle.
