This is absolutely garbage if we get beat today. The players will go into the season low on confidence with little goal threat throughout the team. I know I'm being a doom merchant but I can only see a long hard season ahead. Hope I'm wrong!
It seems strange to be waiting for a new season which such trepidation and dread, but the evidence has been there for months that we are absolutely toothless. 4 goals in pre-season is just garbage. We've still yet to score a goal in the new home kit, and we've been beaten by teams of a level nowhere near the standard we'll be playing in the PL. There's no evidence of any new signings imminent, and we'll probably have to settle for a last-minute loan deal. Still, it might be preferable to the usual process of having expectations raised in pre-season only for them to be dashed after a few months. At least we know what we'll be getting from this season...
On the plus side, we can all make it rich on betting on us to score 1 or less every ****ing game. Worrying doesn't even start the story.
But lets look on the brightside eh............................. Useful link for the fainthearted amongst you http://www.samaritans.org/ We never have it easy lads do we, chin up.
Most appalling pre season for years we are in serious trouble now, what is going on down there ?, is anybody interested.
Okay, everyone take a step back and look at this sensibly. This is nearly the SAME team that came within minutes of beating Man City at their own ground. We have 7 days to buy a striker. MON has been actively trying in the transfer market, nobody is selling. Wolves want 20 million for Fletcher, that is beyond a joke, I would rather MON took his time to find the right player for us than buy anyone to fill the gaps. Spurs have yet to sign a striker, Defoe is their only recognised striker. Only a few teams have signed more than 2 or 3 players. This week will be a busy week in terms of transfers. ffs MON is no fool, have faith in him! Think what he did last year and give ya heads a shake, we're not in 'serious trouble'. It's pre-season for ****s sake. When we're bottom half way into the season, then you can say we're in trouble. But losing friendlies doesn't mean we're doomed.
You looked pretty poor. Centre halfs was shocking and you offered very little threat up front Kasper had 2 saves to make that's it. If I was MON I would want another 3 or 4 player. Westwood had a good game though
Only position that is a major worry is up-front. We could do with back-up elsewhere, but it's not a wonder that we offered little up-front. We'll sign a striker before the season starts
