I doubt they will take this as Wickham will not fire them back to the prem.

To be honest I'd rather give Whickham a chance than pay over the odds for a fizzy pop striker from a fizzy pop team.

With Wickham we paid over the odds for a fizzy pop striker from a fizzy pop club.

Fletcher is a proven premier league striker

True. I'd be happy if he stayed but wouldn't mind if he went to wolves for a year. Fletcher is starting to sound a bit rich for me. At first I said £8m. Then I said ok £10m. Then fine, £12m. £15 and Wickham for a year is a joke.

Fletcher is good but that's extortionate.

I still think Whickam will come good, he doesnt go from a everyone raving about him youngster, and wanted by quite a few clubs, to being dire overnight.

Two or three years time he should be a great player who we're struggling to keep hold of. I'm undecided as to whether game time in the Premier league or Championship would be better for him.

My concern is him playing with Campbell though. Frazier's never done it (injuries aside, yes he's been unlucky) and isn't an ideal person for Wickham to learn from and form a partnership with.

This cud be a win win situation, wickham gets much needed experience for a season and we get a proven premiership striker. With the quality of crosses we can provide with maclean and Larson, fletcher is the ideal striker for us.

But Whickham and Ji are taller than Fletcher, I know just because you are tall, doesnt mean you are a good header of the ball, but it goes a long way to helping.

This is what I really dont understand, Fletcher is only 6 ft 1, Whickam is 6 ft 2 1/2, everyone says Fletcher is a target man, but his assists tally is garbage, I know assists take 2 to tango, but as a target man, it really is poor, 2 last season. (Bendtner got 5).

I really do not see him as a hold up target man at all, yes he can score with his head, but pretty sure the ones we have can (they are not small) even Noble is over 6 ft.

I think people are a bit confused by that. He's not a fantastic Quinny type target man in terms of assists and holding up the ball but he's a tidy focal point of an attack, played in to feet or on the heed.

Also, the problem with Noble is that while he's over six foot, the way he's built means he might as well be five foot six.

    High hopes for him mind.

I agree the lads we have cud do a job, I'm not saying that, I just think wickham, ji and noble need more experience and I personally wud be worried going into next season if the, along with Campbell were our strike force options. That said, I think all 3 will become cracking premier league players, in time. But for now we need proven scorers.

The trouble is is that Wickham is a weak 6ft 2 personally I have seen nothing from or in the lad and would let him go

He is only 19 now you may turn around and say Rooney was a little bit younger, but he only scored 15 goals in 67 games for Everton. Man U paid for potential, and the fact Newcastle put a bid in as well, so his price sky rocketed as Man U didnt want the toon to get him.

Show me a 18-19 yr old that has stormed in the goalscoring charts in a good league that hasnt got the name of Messi/Ronaldo (there are some others but they are very few and far between)

persoanlly I just think a lot are writing wickham off far too early, and I do believe he can be a star in the making this year, not in 2-3 years.
