Ashley to buy shares in Rangers. Has the time of the feeder club come?

Newcastle could send 9 players on loan to Rangers. It may be the Scottish 3rd division but it could be great for there youth development. This seems like a money making scheme more than any thing, but the bonus's for Newcastle are obvious.

How do you rate the morals of this move?

  2. I think Fifa or UEFA need to do something about this joint ownership issue. It is the same with us, a shareholder of FSG also owns shares in Roma, IMO it is not right.

PS - better feeder club than Rangers mind <whistle>

Udinese did it with Granada and now Watford.

Was a good thing for Granada really as they would have gone out of business but instead they got given a load of Udinese players and managed to get promoted to La Liga with them and stay up.

It might be good for Watford too seeing as they'll be given a load of good players on loan like Abdi who has been capped for Switzerland and Daniel Pudil who has been capped 22 times for the Czech Republic.

It really saves a lot of money for these lower clubs who can't afford to bring in players of that quality usually and it also gives young players experience of playing in competitive games instead of the poor reserve league.

  4. the difference is, those agreement where just that, agreements. They don't share owners. We have done similar in the past with Crewe, possibly others.

    Quite an interesting move actually.

Seems pretty shrewd by the fat man in terms of revenue and for Newcastle's youngsters.

Shows where Rangers are though. Must be a tad humilating.

Think they've been through humiliation after humiliation for the past few months. This is probably the brightest light they've seen during this time. Humiliating yes but I'm sure they'd take it.

    Also, whilst on the subject....

Congratulations to Celtic for winning the league last weekend. <ok>

Might benefit Rangers. They get promising young players from Newcastle, no transfer fees, possibly not paying wages or paying low wages, no commitment to keep a player they dont want.

Overall I think Rangers missed a big trick with their demotion. They could have applied to join the English leagues. They would have probably gone into League 1 or 2 and might have avoided the transfer embargo they face. The Scottish leagues are a joke and have been for years, it was a chance for Rangers to start building in a proper league system where there is more money.
