After last seasons amazing end RDM comes into the new season with what seems to be, little control as manager. Its always hard to guess how chelsea operate but it usually starts with the Russian upstairs dictating everything and the players having more power than the manager unless they are strong minded or big ego maniacs than the players ( Jose ). RDM is on a trial, I dont think anyone doubts that, he will be sacked as soon as chelsea dont win 3 on the trot as Roman never looked like he wanted him as manager, he doesnt have that sparkle and well, Roman likes his managers and players to be sparkly and shiny. So now that RDM has pressure, isnt just along for the ride but is now expected to get results, how will he do. Will he be the man to take Chelsea back to the top in the league? can he repeat last seasons success in europe or will the pressure and expectation be too much and last season will always be the flash in the pan it appeared to be?
I honestly think that he will be sacked at the end of the season no matter how well (or badly) he has done, Roman seems to want Guardiola and I reckon he will push to get him after his year off no matter what.
Yeh theres the Guardiola thing to consider. Quite sad if hes sacked for that and not because he failed though. If he does well, which is possible I hope Roman grows up a little and sticks by his man rather than going for the shiny knew toy as always.
He's taking a year off, although he is still being linked with all the big clubs. He was linked with the Russian national team job I think, Bayern and AC Milan have both been heavily linked with him and Roman clearly wants him at Chelsea, although Del Bosque has apparently had words with him to recommend snubbing Chelsea and taking over at Bayern instead.
Well there's bound to be a honeymoon period after the champions league win, but underneath it the league form was so bad their only in the CL because they won a penalty shoot out. I think that RDM is a decent manager but ultimately nothing special. He'll probably be sacked at the end of the year for ending up 3rd or 4th.
Interesting fact: AVB's win ratio was higher than RDM's in the league last season. Make of that what you will.
Yeh I am pointing **** like this out to them. They think RDM is a better manager based on the fact AVB was ****ed over by his own players and RDM sat on a bench while chelsea fluked the CL. Apparently that makes it all AVB's fault and RDM was a hero. Only at Chelsea, where owners run the football side and players do what the ****ing please
Come on lads, use your nut. That ratio means utterly **** all, our rivals for 4th spot were playing 1 game a week while we were rotating our enitre squad in 3 competitions. If you think that has nothing to do with it....
Unacceptable excuse. Thats the way of life at the top im afraid. Its a good point that its likely to be romans inability to stick by him man rather than RDM's failings that will cost him his job though.
It's not an excuse ffs, it's a fact. If a team is playing 2/3 games per week whilst fighting for fourth spot it's going to be tiring on the legs giving the other teams challenging for fourth spot playing just the 1 league game per week an advantage. I'm confident that had we been knocked out of both FA Cup and Champs League we would've achieved 4th place. Maybe even 3rd if we beat Arsenal.
Still not an excuse. They are professional footballers and if you want to be successful you need to be used to playing more games than others. If you cant handle it then you clearly are in the wrong sport.
Again, not an excuse - a fact. I honestly have never been in an argument as tedious and pathetic as this one, it's all bollocks and you're a stubborn ****
Seriously drogs its not an excuse. It doesnt wash. Chelsea have played similar numbers of games for years and its never been an excuse before now. So it isnt one. and yes I am stubborn, right and stubborn. Its why a few members hate me, hate being the appropriate word as they do, not at the level of death threats yet but a few are close
We're having the same argument twice now, my response to that is on the Chelsea board and I can't be arsed to argue about this issue anymore.
Let's face it, lads, RDM is in a no-win situation. There is no way he can top last season's flukey CL win, and that's exactly what he'll need to achieve, if he is to remain as manager of the Chavs. I like RDM. He comes across as a decent, honest, quiet, hard-working bloke who gets on with his job. However, it's clear that he only achieved what he did as a result of the dressing room's backlash against AVB; and RDM was the ideal caretaker manager at that time. He's the players' mate. Well, to be more specific, he was the mate of Lampo, John "iron my hood, bitch!" Terry, and Drogba. With Drogba having left the club, and with Frankie-boy wanting a new contract at the age of 34 and unlikely to get anything better than a "pay as you go" contract offered to him, I can see things spinning out of control very quickly for poor old RDM. See, when it comes to business, a boss cannot be your mate if he is to do his job properly. And I think RDM will bottle it, when it comes to making the big decisions against his "mates," and that will be his downfall.
Chelsea's league form is going to have to improve thats for sure under RDM. I believe that Roman will demand a title challenge, especially after what Chelsea have spent. He will be in trouble if they don't finish at least 3rd.
He will be sacked regardless of what he does. I personally see him doing nothing at all so expect him to be gone by mid season. I judge the guy on his real jobs, not those where he is a puppet caretaker. He hasnt even made the signings chelsea have so what the hell is he going to do. Has he not got it in him to say, oi, this is my team, leave the football side to me and you deal with the money roman? Suppose thats not a good idea tbh, he would be sacked even sooner. Its sad that clubs are no longer managed by football managers but by spoilt brats like Roman but I suppose for these clubs its the price you pay for success.
Even if he gets him Pepe will never get that bunch of ****s playing like Barca, first thing he'll do is bin most of that team if he accepted the job but I just dont think Pepe would work under that russian ganster **** I dont know how a crony of Putin and someone possibly who has had people "liquidated" was ever allowed to buy a prem club
