just like to say how pleased i am that it looks like your football team will be safe from going under,i am a qpr fan but i have a soft spot for pompey and if you are safe i will be over the moon,so good luck for the season ahead i hope you are not lower league for to long and get back up where you should be
I'm not a tax accountant so this is more of a question really, but didn't the government change legislation, through one of its annual finance bills, creating the situation that HMRC was no longer able to act as a secured business creditor, which allowed the football association to bring in the football creditors rule? I do know that HMRC have consistently (using taxpayers money of course) challenged this rule through the courts to no avail.
Every time some twit like this post something I am struck by just how small-minded and petty people can be, and it further strikes me that the above is such an inconsequential addition to the thread subject that it amazes me that he took the time to write it.
Seeing that made me try to think of other users who said similar things in the past but I couldn't think of a single one. I know there have been others but such was the impression they left that I cannot recall even one of their usernames.
Oh yes - and funnily enough TB thinks it shouldn't be dealt with through the press. I'm not sure if I've got a headache........ never a dull moment eh?
If Chanrai were to walk away I wonder if Birch will turn the the "fall-back" position of the supporters trust.
If Chan walks away he kisses goodbye to his £17m and any attempt to retrieve it. He's in a real pickle now - only a small proportion of this "debt" can be carried forward (wonder how that will work through the courts?) and he'll have no access to the parachute payments.
I had a little suspicion that there was something in the air - Tal Ben Haim was being advised on his compromise agreement by Admin Andy, the one who Chanrai wanted as administrator again this time, TBH said that if he had to take a hit so should Trevor Birch. That did come over a bit as being spoon fed didn't it.
Dont you think he's got a point though. Why should the players be hounded out when they are only after what they are owed, yet Birch walk away with his full wedge.
Yes I do. However the admin costs will be the charges for PKF the company rather than Trevor Birch personally, I don't doubt that there have been quite a few staff involved in the work undertaken. Also his charges were outlined at the time of appointment by the courts so Chanrai should always have been aware of how they were racking up.
