Ah, can you smell it? Optimism, hope, excitement. All to be crushed over the next 9 months of course but that doesn't remove the wonder of the that start of season smell does it? With the start of the season less than a week away (now) who can wait for the finest football club around to kick start the English season or in some of your cases, who can wait to start predicting the results of this club? Some of you are fairly champing to get going... Cardiff City have been fairly active in the off season. We no longer play in blue at home. A new badge. Whitts has stayed (so far) and Miller has left. Mutch, Kim, Velkonja and HH have signed as Malky prepares for a new season. Oh, and we've signed this Bellamy kid. Heard he's quite good.... The division hasn't gotten any easier though. Bolton, Wolves and Blackburn could cause problems as well as ever spending Leicester and fast flowing Blackpool. However, Leeds are farting round with a farss of a takeover and Forest are threatening to spend a lot of money on average players.... some things never change. Then there's the newly promoted - surely not another Norwich? And this is where we begin - Huddersfield. Lee Clark lead the Terriers to a promotion challenging campaign before been dismissed and ex-Leeds boss Grayson lead them to a playoff winning campaign with an epic penalty shootout. They've surely splashed the cash - Clayton and Gerrard just two of their many signings. Then there's Rhodes, who worryingly hasn't left.... that could be problematic.... Oh, so many questions. Indeed many questions in the league as well. Where will the Div 1 title be heading this year? (Hopefully not the far east again, the postage was hell.... ) Can H manage a last escape again and how will Privatebenjamin follow up his second tier winning season? Will JH add to his wooden collection or will our new mod Pont make a top 10 finish? Or will Sparky zap his way to a title.....? Oh, so many questions. And New Rules in bold so you read the below. Changes in Rules To make the league more interesting you now need to predict the Cardiff Goal Scorers to match your prediction as well. The Correct Scores and Correct Results stay the same as last year. Scoreline CS = 3 pts CR = 1 pts Scorers You get a point for every correct scorers you predict to a maximum of 3. You get an extra point if you predict an exact situation, both scorers and scoreline. So you can now claim a max of 7 points by guessing a 3 -0 scoreline and all Cardiff scorers right. You can predict the same scorer twice. If you get a 0-0 right you get four points. I'll use mine as an example. I'm going for....(though you may wish to wait until after the toon and CoC games to get a better idea. Cardiff 2 -1 Huddersfield Whittingham, Bellamy Any questions feel free to ask. Cheers Blue Sheep
Cardiff 3 -0 Huddersfeild Hieder Bellers x2 And do i get a bonus point if i get it all wrong ;-)) COMONNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Well done "Sheep", nice to have some football to talk about too As you are away and JR is still there................... Huddersfield 2-1 Cardiff City (HH with your goal - hope he plays now!) Sorry guys, just think the momentum will get them a result, that and JR scoring for fun again this season (possibly). Mind you, I said West Ham would beat you on the opening day last season
Hello Sheep and thank you for your intro to the new league. I fancy there will be a lot of our fellow posters predicting the BLUEbirds scoring three goals in many games because of the new points system. This should make it a very interesting league with a correct score and correct goalscorers coming into play. There should be more changes on the leaderboards. Anyway back to the predictions. The luck of the Irish propelled me to the dizzy heights of 3rd last season but don't worry that won't last! I fancy we'll get off to a nervy first win 1-0 with Whitts on the scoresheet.
We're at home. I think the predictions up to here would have to be classed as very optimistic if we were away!
Just checked the fixture list, and you are right! So why does the thread title say - Prediction League - Huddersfield (A)? BS - you ballsed up mate I will change my prediction to Cardiff City 2-1 Huddersfield HH & Bellend
Bluesheep, what is the latest we can post our prediction? What happens if our chosen goal scorer is not in the team due to late withdrawal? Can we change goal scorer or just have to suck it up?
