is Tiote the best defensive midfielder in the league?

Its really not very nice and my best mates brother is disabled and has been referred to as a '******' in the past. Its really not nice. If you insist on calling people names, stick to the original ones which can be seen as a joke.

 

Examples :

Mascherano - DM.
Xabi Alonso - Deep-lying playmaker.

Tiote = DM/Holding midfielder. It's the same ****.

 

First post, and having played DM since i was a nipper i can safely say that DM/Holding Midfield is the same thing. My job is to win the ball, and pass to someone better than me

But on the subject; Essien is what Tiote will be soon enough

They're both older than Tiote though, Tiote has only played a season now. Essien and Parker possess a greater threat on goal than Tiote, but i think in terms of skill, Tiote is better than them both.

 

Parker isn't even a DM IMO. He's more of a action/industrious all round box-to-box CM.

Edit : Staying on topic. Tiote IS one of the best. Not the best JUST yet though. Essien hasn't had a strong season but he's still got a lot in him and I think he's still the best. Yaya Toure could count as well but he's more of a box-to-box/AM if you ask me(See Man City vs. Man United game on Sat, played in the ''hole'' behind Balotali in a 4231). Dare I say it.. De Jong's a very hard-worker who's been quite solid this season and Barry's performance on Saturday was very impressive despite having a awfully average season in general.

Just to join the debate Holding Midfielder and Defensive Midfielder are definitely the same thing

 

Yeah i'd take Tiote over either of them due to his age and him only being here this season so he will improve. Essien is better but is off form and perhaps on the way downhill. Parker is West Ham. Without him they are nothing. This season he's been the best midfielder in the league.
