Dunno, just fancied them to win it, usually some lower league teams in the semis. Watford been taken over and signed some solid players, can see them doing well.
It does, but rule 2 says the penalty for breaking rule 1 is only a yellow card, ie 5 point deduction. 12 PL teams and 12 Championship teams by 3 points each is 72 points, plus 6 for the Cups (3 points for each winner) gives you 78 points. Knock your 5 point penalty off for 73 points and I can't see anybody beating it so I'd take an intentional booking With the 3 rules you're locking your predictions in at the end of this transfer window (or thereabouts), then at the end of the January window you can decide whether to buy the opportunity to change your predictions for a 5 point fee. EDIT: Re stickying, I'm not doing it yet. We've already got 5 stickies. The Olympic one is due to end shortly, but Charlie's prediction league will be getting stickied first as his is weekly on the match results. At the end of the transfer window the two transfer threads will be unstickied so I'll make this a sticky from then until 15th September. At that point I'll favourite it on my computer and sticky it at key times (eg end of loan window, over Xmas, end of January window, last couple of weeks of the season).

Top, and for the benefit of Tickler (re PM): You've set a 15th September deadline for submissions, you'll have it as a sticky for 2 weeks before that. There's no reason for a 6th sticky to be made when there's already been people ask for it to be reduced because they come on here on devices with low res screens that get filled by the stickies.
Up to the deadline (where there's no penalty) people can just edit their posts. When it gets to the deadline Tickler can make a note of what people have put (and make a post saying you've done it please Tickler). After that if anybody wants to make changes they have to put them in a new post so it'll be obvious who's picking up penalties?
Yep, it is obvious and very self explanatory. I completely mis read the rules though and thought it was any player from any nominated team who received yellows and reds would induce a penalty. I can be a proper berk at times.
Ricardo, How about if you also get rid of the Big Deals/Rumours thread as that is pretty pointless and as a replacement we can have this as a stick along with my Prediction League
If it were that way round then I'd say the stats section of the FL website would take care of the Championship figures at the end of the season, and somewhere on the PL there's presumably either the same stats given, or a Fair Play League table because the winner of the FPL has the chance of getting a Europa League place if England wins an extra place for fair play in the CL and Europa games this season.
It wouldn't really. Two ways you could do it: 1) Just use the whole season figure for people's final predictions. 2) Do it as penalty points earnt whilst they were selected. When someone changes a team they have to make a new post, so let's say in October I changed my 6th place team who'd had 30 yellow cards and replaced them with a team who had 35 at that stage. Tickler comes on and sees my post, goes and checks the FP table, then wherever he's got his record of my choices he puts the new team with (-5) after it*, so that he knows at the end of the season to deduct 5 from my yellow card total.

The reason why changes can be made upto the 14th Sept. is that the transfer window is still open. We all know the starting lineups for some clubs wont be the ones that they end up with. 4 games played is nothing as Reading proved last season.

Correct. I shall be doing a Full screen dump of this thread just after midnight on the 15th sept. to retain a hard copy. It will be easy to keep tabs on anyone who changes after that time. Not looking good for Barnsley looking at peoples choices at the moment.
