I think Bolt would vote for the Swedish handball team but my vote is for Wiggins. So dominant and that was on the back of working really hard for Cavendish before in the road race. A true pro - what an Olympics though!!
this list must be incomplete, there is no footballers on it. surely at least 5 should be shortlisted.
Pendleton anyone? Wiggins is up there for me but so is Farah, Ennis, Hoy and Trott. Maybe even Murray.
What about Jason Kenny on the list, two golds and one under big pressure as he kept Hoy out of the sprint. But for me it has to be Wiggins, Gold and the tour, it doesn't get better.
Wiggins for me, and I really think Dave Brailsford deserves the coach award. For once though, it actually looks like we might have a list of 10 people who genuinely deserve it, rather than 8 of the 10 names simply making the numbers up. If some of the names mentioned were up against previous years nominees there'd be no contest.
Andy Murray if he wins the US open is a contender. Perhaps Rooney if he starts the season well but Wiggins is a shoe in at the moment.
Read a funny Frankie Boyle tweet about how he hates Rooney because he reminds him of when he was served a jacket potato with a pube topping. Anyway for it Bradley Wiggins, like everyone here he won the Tour De France as well. But all the gold medalists deserve it, and I wish they could all get one.
