What a surprise. Bates was obviously trying to swindle the new buyers like he did with Abramovich, they saw through it, and the miserable old **** just won't let go for less than a fortune. Not when he's got a few marquee players left to sell and steal the money. McCormack next, just wait.
It is clear that those self publicists running LUST don't knw their ar5e from their elbow. They believed the deal was done, they now are sure the deal is off. Neither of those is or was 100% true. They have not walked away, Bates is tryinng to up the price, and it is quite cclear he wants rid and is still open to offers fromm whoever can meet his valuation. It's that valuation that is the same problem it always was.
I must admit things are not looking great for LUST at the moment and you can't help but feel Bates is playing games with them in an attempt to discredit everything they do.
i am glad your so well informed and feel able to judge me and the board in such detail mate, how clever you must feel? for those who can see the wood for the trees and dont want to win a lolipop i can say a little more about yesterdays events. after talks had failed the buyers felt that the deal was dead and could not see any way of progressing, Harvey left Monaco at that point. in between Harvey leaving Moncao and arriving back in Leeds the legal people banged heads, upon Harveys return Bates was contacted and after taking advice accordingly and with the buyers still willing to talk the club turned direction and decided to resume talks. we self publicists then had to work to obtain as much information as we could from both sides in order to make a statement which would give you our members and the wider leeds fan base a better understanding of what had happened. i'll leave it to those who know far more than me to fill in any gaps before putting the chip van out
Thanks BIG mate. It does amaze me sometimes how bad our fans are at reading between the lines. Clearly the deal has been "imminent" for some time and Bates has been stalling before moving the goalposts at the last minute. Also when people went mad attacking LUST when the club came out and said the exclusivity period had ended, despite the fact that could have been caused by, maybe, I don't know, the deal collapsing? Thanks for all your work and for keeping us informed, it's definitely appreciated by most.
Fair response, I would suggest that LUST now leave everything alone for the business deals to be dealt with between the parties. We will be informed of things when/if there is something to be informed about.
When the **** hits the fan and dreams seem shattered we all need someone to blame and vent anger on, it is human nature. Sadly for LUST they are in the direct firing line. This isn't condoning any abuse aimed at them but I can see why some are aiming their anger at LUST but what they have to remember is Bates is a cunning old git who detests the thought that a supporters group dare stand up against him. I don't doubt for a minute that Bates is trying to play games with them and discredit anything that they do. I don't believe some of the statements LUST make go down that well, I have been guilty of misreading some myself but it is a learning curve for everyone, at the end of the day the people behind LUST are still Leeds United supporters and hats off to them, they have got off their ass and attempted to do something about the situation rather than sit and groan and moan on forums about it like myself and many others.
The whole things just bollocks. I don't hate Leeds and I've enjoyed our battles in recent years, I just hate to see any club getting messed around by it's "owners"/"management" Paul lambert frequently said the only thing that matters at a football club is the players and the fans, and he was damn right.
I've not renewed my ST or bought a membership. Pay on the day away games only for me next season. Not another penny until I can be sure it's spent on FOOTBALL. The only criticism I'd make of LUST in all of this is the slightly ill-advised 'point of no return' and 'dare to dream' comments, although that hope can't yet be totally written off as false, and it's understandable why Gary had to say those things to quench some of the heat coming in his direction from impatient fans.
LUST were effectively helping Bates put out propoganda when they confirmed the take over was definately on. They wanted the plaudits for representing our views and sold themselves out in their eagerness. I don't want a lollipop but either LUST were conned (they knew who they were dealing with) or they were aiding and abetting of the pearly king in getting our hopes up. Either way as a pressure group representing a minority of the fans it is time to leave the stage to those who have a clue.
So as I said the deal is not dead. Perhaps you clowns should be less keen to pick up every bit of corn that both sides in the talks are throwing your way, it would be better if you just let thiings take their course and lets see what actually happens. if you cannot do that I woulld again suggest you just like the sound of your own voices and are serving no purpose in pretending to represent the views of ordinary Joes and are in this for purely selfish reasons. You don't represent me or thousands of others.
LUST have clearly been claiming facts beyond their understanding. I believe they have been in limited contact with prospective buyers, however this was no doubt instigated by the incumbents trying to garnish support to pressure Ken Bates (clearly a stupid idea, but why else involve LUST?). So now LUST are left looking foolish, as are those who supported the fair tales. Who knows like all fairy tales it may yet have a happy ending......
