Damiao yes please - Sturridge not at all sure. Never gone for players who spend a lot of time skulking around the pitch with face like a smacked arse!! He may be talented, but seriously think he would be a nag impact on team spirit.
Dam-eh-yauw - you have to pronounce the ã through the nose as you speak. If in doubt, try and do Kenneth Williams' voice.
Wow, sounds difficult. I think i'm just gonna call him Meow (in a cat voice). I'm sure people will get it. Only if we stump up the £47m though, otherwise this is just a "moo" point (Friends in case people think i'm stupid)
been reading on the Beeb board wemight been signing the Roma keeper, what made me laugh is they want Walker as part of the deal,i may be biased but i think Walker is worth a lot more than their keeper.
Read that too, Tots - and it was so laughable I didn't think it worth mentioning!! So, we are likely to trade a more valuable (£) and necessary player, for an admittedly decent keeper, who we might like but don't desperately need!! Yeah, right!! Lol
you say this lads and I havent seen what's on the BBC, but the SSN transfer centre is reporting that spurs have been in contact with inter about Julio Cesar, but apparently to "sweeten the deal, kyle walker could well be that player" going in the opposite direction. SSN don't usually get involved in bullshit, so this is very concerning. seriously, kyle walker as part of "sweetening a deal"? do me a ****ing favour.
It's absolute b*llocks Roo. Don't believe any of it. If you look at the BBC gossip section this morning you will see again that apparently Sunderland will make an offer for Jermain Defoe. Really?! Unless the Sunderland Echo know something we don't about 2 striker signings we are about to make. Some journalists are so thick it's incredible. Do they not think at all before they start writing the b*llsh*t?
Yeah fair one mate. It just amazes me why they bother to write such obvious bullshit? Always makes me think it could be true because it's just so ludicrous. I saw some reports last night that international have signed some striker from fluminese on a 4 year deal. - could well be leandro's replacement I thought, which would make sense with all the speculation going on. Also saw on twitter that the Ade deal is in its final stages as apparently city have got their own business to do and need this situation sorted. Fee of 4 mill apparently. Someone ITK mentioned that he was supposedly at the lodge yesterday. But hey, don't kill the messenger.
Internacional signed Rafael Moura from Fluminense yesterday so the are either preparing for Damiao to leave or investing some of the money that they got for Oscar in strengthening their attack.
24 hours later, the reports say we could pick him up for nothing as Inter want him off their wage bill (although the fact they just brought in Handanovic may also have something to do with it...)
Its clear the deal can still happen as City HAVE to get adebayor and santz cruz off their wage, they can't let them sit and rott while they pick up huge wages, ade knows this, as does Levy so if it happens and he is our main target for a striker then we risk a slow start of the season so we can save 2-3 million.
Apparently they wanted to do this last season but his wages were too high for the other club. Maybe for us too.
Unless we were to get Sessegnon coming our way. He would fit as a Modric replacement. We could then move Modric on and spend the money on strikers. Perhaps AVB does not like Defoe.
We still desperately need to shift out some players. The window seems to have come to a virtual standstill.
My hunch tells me that the question to ask is.... Would AVB and Levy prefer Sturridge or Defoe if they had the choice? From this question alone I could imagine Defoe going to make way for the younger, similar (equally selfish) version that AVB had worked with before. (Who will also have that sell on value that Levy always wants.) I also have a hunch that after this Olympic final, we'll get Damiao in and then possibly Adebayor and Lloris.
Spot on about Sturridge I think, LockStock. Has the advantage of being able to play the lone role and also scoring goals from the wing, though his game there needs a lot of work. Wouldn't surprise me if the link to Sunderland has some truth to it. They're being quoted over £12m for ****ing Fletcher from Wolves FFS, so I wouldn't be surprised if they look elsewhere. O'Neill likes a big frontman and Defoe links up well with one. Heskey's available...
Sessegnon's quite creative, from what I've seen of him, but he's a very different player to Modric, playing much higher up the park. He'd be in competition with van der Vaart, Sigurdsson, Kane, etc, unless he was picked out wide and pushed Lennon down the pecking order or something.
