Aye kept him out for a few months I think, Tash. But he came back strong and was pivotal in the bairns getting to the final of the Milk Cup and was awarded player of the tournament in that aswell

Hard to predict what will become of him. Plenty shine brightly in the youth ranks but don't go on. He has done everything right so far by all accounts though and that is all you can ask. It would be great to see him break through. Maybe we won't need another non ACON striker! We might not anyway with the draw.

He's apparently won some award that has been won by Torres, Tevez and Iniesta in the past, so that's a good sign if there ever was one.

He got a cameo role and showed up well by all accounts.

Campbell came on with six minutes remaining and linked up superbly with Romain Amalfitano and the Frenchman should have scored twice but substitute 'keeper Joe Lewis smothered both times and Campbell also looked to have earned another spot-kick but the referee wasn't interested.

He looked really lively when he came on. had a lot of pace and played some lovely through balls for Amafalalala.

Not only that, but where a lot of other players were treating it like a friendly, you could tell Campbell was trying to make a good impression and give it 100%.

He did look tiny though, like a teenager (which he is!!!).

Hopefully the lad can push on this season. It would be great to have another homegrown talent progress.

Good little interview with him on nufctv - said he was getting funny looks off the other lads on the bench 'cause he was singing along with all the fans. Said it was a dream come true and even though we lost, and even if that's his last ever game, he said he was happy 'cause he played a first team game for Newcastle and that's all he's wanted to do for as long as he could remember!

You can't beat having that in your bag. Look at Fabregas and all the Barca homegrown. They give that bit more. Bodes well.
