If that is true that is not as bad but that is still 64k too much, problem is it is not all over as FA have not got involved, I would just like to know today so we can get this over and done with.
Be careful here people. Remember there is still no legal court claim that anyone at the club is racist, anything said to those terms would be slander. This was a tribunal not a court of law. EDIT - I know no-one has but just want to drop that in!
Me too, What is 64k to a man used to 2.5k a year? He won't work in football again and all this talk of FA sanctions I think is unfounded. Hope he has a good ISA, that wont last him 50 years!
please log in to view this image It's just how I feel ! edit - I mean I'm in a DARK MOOD - the choice of colour is reflective of this emotion and, under the circumstances, is purely coincidental.
It looks like this is not finished yet, 6 minutes ago... Simon Jones ‏@BBCSimonJones McCammon race tribunal still going on, with argument over costs. #Gillingham #Gills Retweeted by Kent Sport I think this guy is actually in the tribunal so probably the one to follow...https://twitter.com/BBCSimonJones not606 welcomes our 16 guests, nice to see people checking us out for the latest news stories
I think you meant 2.5k a week- but I get your point. The 64K represents the 6 months of contract that he must have had. He won't get much out of an ISA - he'd be lucky to get 3.5% -4% --- if it's tied in for a long time - not much more than £35 a week after tax. ps - can you enlighten me as to when it was that McCammon actually worked in football
I think he was more of a cameo kinda guy. You know like David Bowie in Zoolander. Well not really, David Bowie had an input on the movie, MM...not so much...
McCammon is on Sky Sports News via telephone, just a very 'brief' look at some of the wording. MM - level of compensation is fair MM - justice has been done. Reporter - Gillingham denied the claim. MM - it is about being treated equally.
Be the whole matter true or false, i still think this is nowhere near over for us as a club, i still think the FA will come down hard in one or two forms of punishment and we are now tarnished with a dirty image that will stick ! not forgetting we also pay all legal costs for this. the whole thing just makes you so bitter !!!
Is it wise to just write this off as a clerical and HR disaster and cut our losses rather than put more money into it?
Just heard his phone interview on SSN. They also reporting as wrongful dismissal on the grounds of racial discrimination. Thing that stood out was that the PFA didn't agree with him either so he had to go else where and find someone that did. He said "I received advice, poor advice from the union and had I had to go and seek my own independent advice and they gave me the advice I required and I took it forward and was obviously successful" They are also reporting it as dismissal on grounds of racial discrimination. I've generally kept my views to myself on this. Part of me just wants us to pay up and move on and forget that he ever had anything to do with GFC.
Be careful what you say lads, Chairman Scally is understandably not happy. Courtesy of BBC Radio Kent...http://audioboo.fm/boos/916176
Too right Scally's not happy and he's looking at counter suing McCammon, and quite right too. And don't even get me started on Meridian news, where that supercilious dinnage sits in judgement but doesn't mention his beloved Portsmouth who through grossly over spending can't pay their legitimate creditors.
