I see us starting with Gerrard Lucas Allen but Shelvey can come in for Allen or Gerrard so I think he'll get plenty of time on the pitch this season.

We could also go with Shelvey Lucas Allen with Gerrard in the front 3.

I agree Adam is the weakest of our midfielders.

I don't think any of us would be surprised if Adam was offloaded.

There was some talk of him going to Fulham within the Dempsey deal.

Hendo is still in the mix this season aswell of course.

for me bellamy is good in the next 6 months then after that he's done. he's aging but he's done great at the olympics... man among boys. but guys if you look at things rodgers has decided early to clear the decks bar gerrard and carra.

We've 6-8 players who can play in his two positions. gerrard, borini, suarez, downing, suso, cole, sterling, even carroll could try left side forward. its be nice to keep him on but i think realistically either we play suso and sterling and make them players or we let them rot... if we let them play reserves then where's ie and the like going to play?

Are we to sell them like silva and ince and kalaniklic (sp?) are we making players for others or us.

Bellamy did well in his firs thalf of the year we depended on him due to suarez and even carroll but he's old, we've shifted maxi, kuyt and him and in may i wrote articles identify the 5 senior players needing replacement.

I just hope to hell the kids are played and ready cos we've not looked like getting anyone in up top... ramirez looks like its a press story.

my first team as of today is

    reina
    johnson skertl agger enrique
    allen lucas shelvey
    gerrard suarez borini

I'd stick gerrard up there but his first half performace was very good yesterday in midfield.

downing seems to be in rodgers thoughts but i dunno.... not for me.

    second 11

    jones
    kelly carra coates robinson
    henderson spearing adam
    cole carroll downing

two young guns = suso and sterling.

I'd be quite happy to see adam and cole sold tomorrow if thats our choice. If we bring in much more it should really be quality... eg, move gerrard to midfield and sell spearing to bring in a ramirez (rumour) or just let cole go to allow sterling to develop.

  6. IMO, we played a 4231 last night with Gerrard behind Suarez, Downing and Borini either side, and Gerrard being in there worked a treat. It could be construed as a 433 with Gerrard pushing forward though <ok>

Still as worried after last night's performance? He goes with my blessing and gratitude. He was never here enough to be a club legend, but he can count on being fondly remembered, and always welcome back here.

I thought Gerrard had an excellent free role in there and he excelled. Also noticed Suarez and Borini interchanged a lot while Downing kind of stayed close to the wings.

It worked well and if we get Ramierz think he would just slot right in there. My worry is that we won't get him unless we sell Agger which after watching last night it would really need to be that 27 million as he was so good again last night.

Agger...bring in Ramirez and maybe sell Carroll if we can.

Not that I wan Carroll to go, but don't want Agger to go. Can't think of anyone else who we can sell. Adam will not go for any more that £4m.

I can't see there being any more departures, as I can't see Manchester City agreeing to Liverpools asking price for Agger. There is little or no chance of Andy Carroll going. However I can see one more signing and that signing being a wide-man.

  13. I don't want to see Agger go, I don't want to see Carroll go either, but they are the obvious players to sell if we need some dollars. One is injury prone and as only averaged fourteen games a season since joining us, the other doesn't appear to fit in very well.

Did you actually answer my question? You seem to twist it to favour your answer <ok>

If we were to replace a player to bring in Ramirez I would rather sacrifice Carroll over Agger. However...

Agger may be injury prone, but we have Coates to step in. <ok>
If Agger goes, we have Coates to step in. <ok>

  15. My original question was Agger or Ramirez and £10m. Judging by your responses, I think your saying Agger...?

Since we have just signed Allen, I'd now say keep Agger <ok>

**** off I want to keep Agger. <laugh>

Might as well ask me which of my two children I would save if a gun was pointed to my head.

    I don't have kids btw...just a figure of speech.
