I've had my season ticket for several weeks now but a freind of mine is away so i've bought him tickets to the Wgan and Utd games today. Just wanted to say that the ordering system and being able to visually choose your seat at St Mary's rather than just a block number online is very good. The only way you could select seats before was by phoning up or going to the ticket office, so well done Saints for giving us something that is useable. What does everyone else think?
Looked pretty impressive to me- especially picking exact seats- but had a few problems with it about 10am displaying 'do not use' next to the Wigan link, then showing ALL seats in block 37 as available?! Then got an error message when asked if I wanted to add man utd tickets, so just gave up & called them- it's a local soton number now (rather than the old 0845) & got through to someone straight away. Booking fees of £2.50 *per ticket* are a bit steep though, especially as I was booking 5 tickets altogether!
Haven't tried yet as I can't go to Wigan game but I'm very pleased that you can choose your own seat.
Saints catch up with a system that ticketmaster have been using for over 10 years. Internet wise, football is still years behind the NFL/MLB websites.
I still don't like booking fees. If you went into a supermarket and had to pay £2.50 to use the checkout you'd be well pissed. Why should you have to pay for the privilege of paying?
Should certainly be something that everyone lobbies their local MP about. Not just in football, but any booking fees as its just a joke that it costs that much to process a payment (probably something like 10p in reality, compared to £2.50 you are being charged). The whole point of online or phone ticket transactions is to save money on overheads, so its really taking the piss.
