[h=1]QPR line up defender[/h]Sunderland, 20:22, August 9, 2012 QPR boss Mark Hughes is set to make a move for Roma defender Gabriel Heinze if he fails in his bid for Sunderland's Kieran Richardson. Black Cats defender Richardson is thought to be his first choice but there is plenty of competition, especially from West Ham, for the defender rated at around the £2m mark. Argentine defender Heinze has been told he can leave Roma for a nominal fee this summer by new coach Zdenek Zeman and his representatives have opened discussions with Hughes over a deal. The 34-year-old former Manchester United and Real Madrid defender can also play at centre back and his experience would be a major benefit to Hughes' side. If as they say his value is only £2 mill, why would we want to sell him, he is worth more to us on the pitch than that, IMO.
Agree Bill But if we can sign a new LB (Olsson) & a new winger (Matty Phillips,McGeady or Johnson) then i would say let him go but not for 2m IMO he is worth around 4m
He would usually go for about 6m I think, but his values deceased significantly because he's in his final year of his contract!
2 million is a pittance these days in footballing terms. Would rather he went on a free next year then get 2m for him now, his versatility is worth much much much more.
If we were signing him it would be 6mil. However we should sell him while we can get some money, he clearly wants a new challenge & a chance to move back to London. He has been a loyal servant. No hard feelings from me. Who over the last few years has played for us longer?
MON wants him to stay and has apparently put the ball in his court so it's down to Ricco now. If he stays then great - £2m is nothing but, unfortunately with him nbeing in the last year of his contract we can't exactly bargain can we
If he'd go for £2m (Elmo money!) I'd definitely want to keep Rico. Good squad player with versatility and quality. Especially when our squad is pretty thin at the moment... We should only be looking to add players in my opinion.
This has to happen first, despite his age or desire to return to london, he's too valuable in such a thin squad, a natural left pegger who can almost play anywhere is very hard to come by
I hope he does stay, cos for 2 mill, thats bargain basement ****. And he is the only all rounder we have.
