Went to EVERY LFC home last season in all 3 comps, plus a couple of away games, all 3 wembley matches and the pre season home game v Valencia Not going to the Gomel match OR the Leverkusen match at weekend.Obviously we will sell out the PL games, but I think we could see some VERY disappointing attendances this season Why should the fans spend an arm and a leg on tickets, etc, when it is blatantly clear the owners wont get THERE cash out.Think FSGs lack of ambition and in vestment may lead to Anfield being half empty this year, and they will only have themselves to blame
quid pro quo ... the fans dont turn out then the owners say we dont need a stadium as we cant fill the one we have
You do what you want to do - it totally up to you. However, poor attendances has far more to do with the money that supporters have available than it has with the investment actions of FSG.
It is the main reason Dave yes but it does seem there is a certain lack of enthusiasm around the city at the moment (and that may impact the Europey/mid week attendances). Probably just pre season lull but seeing Kenny sacked deflated a lot of people around here and then to have had a relatively slow summer in the transfer market so far has definitely allowed a certain of cynicism to creep in. I'm going to the Gomel game as are most of the lads I go with but I imagine attendance may be slightly down although first home game for BR will pull in a few extras no doubt. Probably won't get to the Leverkusen game even though I am tempted by the Sami factor
I think the Gomel game will get a decent attendence but only cos of all the part timers taking their kids at reduced rates. There does seem to be a lack of enthusiasm in the city in general but i think it will liven up once the season starts.
Nice attitude for you to have there! People like you really do make me sick, those part timers dont always have the funds to goto all the games, those kids are your future fans, i know i was one of them. You guys go on about loyalty and call the plastics who come down from some other city to watch your club but those plastics spend a fortune on buying stuff from the club shop cause their visit is special, ALL CLUBS need plastic fans to survive, the more we have the more money we can generate which hopefully can be ploughed back into our club and get us back to the top, so get off your high horse for once. I for one will be at as many games as i can humanly possibly get too and it does not make me a part timer.
Didn't like the plastics quote. I would love to watch more games but just don't have the money for travel and tickets. Attendance will hopefully be up after a couple of signings and some good footy. Fingers crossed.
woah boy! Think you got the wrong impression, I only got to about a dozen games in total last season and am now technically an out of Towner so I wasn't having a go just merely a prediction that the attendance will be artificially boosted by the price cuts and availability of tickets.
In which case sorry terrifictraore, but it was the line about the part timers filling the stadium that got me. For some bizarre reason a lot of LFC fans get labelled as plastic fans if they are not from the city. My great grandad and my grandad (great grandad lived on scotland road btw), grandad lived in burscough and both ardent reds which was how i ended up supporting them. i am fom Burnley but the first game I went to was Liverpool vs Luton Town, my families other side were mancs through and through, and as a result i despise being called a glory fan and or a plastic, i always go to as many games as i can, therefore spending more than a local would to get there in the first place, i purchase shirts only through the club shop when they are at their most expensive so my money goes to my club direct (i hope) and my children are force fed red merchandise as is my dog ( tbf the cat has refused all such stuff). So it really gets my goat when people downgrade those that try cause if we left it to the season ticket holders the ground might not be even slightly full cause we cant expect those guys, just cause they are local to subsidise the club, as they have household budgets too. And as i said before the children are the future, and as i have just heard we are the world in my rant i am stopping.
Tbf we once had a Stockport fan round and she went and sat on his knee all afternoon so I think she may indeed be a stockport county fan so I have always felt a little bit sorry for her
As she sat on a County fans knee it's probably a fair bet she doesn't like football at all Decent attendance tonight btw 43 000 not a bad atmos either
And first European game in over a year, maybe people were glad to see a change of opposition from the usual English sides. I think Leverkusen will have a decent attendance too, seeing as Big Sami's coming home.
Gutted I can't go Sami's on my list of top players I've ever seen at anfield Hope he turns into a top class manager too.
