If SAF lets Ryan Tunnicliffe go out on loan he would be the missing link in midfield. With Evans and Oli missing at the moment we are a bit light in that dept. imo

Depends - if he at least tries Koren there for a full month I'd await the outcome of that. If not then yes, it's clearly our weak spot (assuming Prosser and Fryatt score).

And if Koren doesnt work there we can still loan after 31st August before anyone points that out.

I have a feeling he won't play Koren in a 2 man CM so I would probably say we need another, especially if we can get rid of Oli.

Yes, yes we do. Trotter from Millwall please.

SB has addressed the CB problem and hopefully the CF but we definitely need a dominating CM.

I'd love us to sign Trotter, but he'd command a hefty fee, there was a lot of talk about Saints bidding £2m a month or so back.

Koren is a top player but has most of us know he is mainly ineffective out wide, he is much better central and can totally dictate play the problem is getting the right person to play alongside him because for all his good points we know he has weaknesses, tackling, heading ect

Think Bruce is prioritising a winger instead of a central midfield.

But wants two in so tuther will prob be a central midfield, wouldnt mind another striker myself

don't understand why we don't try a 5.3.2 formation. Koren in the middle with 2 others, 2 strikers. Attacking full backs.

As others have said, we need someone who can boss the midfield and/or add a bit of creativity from the centre of the park. Trotter from Millwall would be perfect.

we definately need one who can grab a game by the scruff of the neck and work box to box, koren, cairney, mckenna all have qualities but none of them drive us forward consistently with any pace..
ive said it before and ill say it again and you can all take the piss but dean marney was a major player in our promotion season, he linked defence to attack, we need somebody of his style but who hopefully could shoot straight..

I think Evans could play the Marney role(better than Marney did), but he has to be given the freedom to push much further forward.

Driving forward consistently with pace = George Boyd

Always wants the ball, Surges forward when he does get it, goes down easily but wins alot of freekicks, Creates plenty.

Is evans creative enough though, and has he got the end product?

Think hes a decent tidy little player but just lacks that quality that adds Assists and goals to his record

We might need a midfielder, I'm not really sure, Steve Bruce sometimes posts on here so might be best to ask him? :undecided:

In related news, I can confirm that I do NEED a new shower. Mine is broken (another fail in my flat).

A man is coming tomorrow to install it.

So, in the meantime, Party Hull! has been enjoying :emoticon-0182-poolpBATH TIME!:emoticon-0182-poolp

    S'alright Bobbington.

I found it most enjoyable this morning as I stretched in the bubbles, sipping my coffee.

No matter how many times I take my coffee into the shower, it never works.

    Think I've cracked it...:1980_boogie_down:

Agree dj. It really bugs me how Marney is sneered at. The game is won and lost in the Centre of midfield. Ash and Marney were superb. 6 goals form Marney in our promotion season. How many did Evans and Mckenna get between them??
