Until JT leaves hes the star man so that one doesnt wash, neither does it at City and especially PSG with Moura. These clubs have all bought several star players so a player would need to be incredibly thick to fall for that one..... oh, they are...

Location, ok thats true in Chelseas case......... but its not a footballing reason and not enough to swing a decision really.

trophies.... look back over the past 20 years. There is no club more likely to win trophies than Manchester United. That goes for anywhere on earth with a league of similar quality. Not the SPL.

  2. I reckon Spurs are better than United, at the moment.

anyway my point is football is not the deciding factor when players move to money clubs.

    Its financial, plain and simple.

None of the money clubs have anything on United bar money, nothing at all. Thats why you all use that tedious word...'project'.

    blah blah blah.
Of course money is a factor.
If you were offered two identical jobs, but one paid more money than the other, which one would you take?

Can we stop pretending that footballers are some kind of special people who give a crap about passion or history or pride etc as 95% dont give a crap.
    And neither would I.
Its the fans who are passionate and support clubs, most players dont give a shiznit aslong as they are getting paid.
And I can completely understand that, because to us football is a religion, to them its a job. I know there are some players who are an exception, but not too many nowadays.
It means something completely different to us than it does to them. If a player moves for money reasons I dont see how or why he can be criticized.
He has a family to provide for and a life outside of football, and for us to sit here flaming them for wanting to earn more money is hypocritical and ******ed, they are still human beings and one of lifes biggest motivating factors is to earn more money.

So stop being bitter, stop picking fights (all of you) and lets just get on with watching the sport we all love and stop being b!tches.

LOL It used to be Liverpool fans who I hated the most, but since Liverpools fall from grace and Spurs starting to compete, their fans are becoming mouthy little bar stewards.
All fun though, the more competitive the league, the more fun it is. I cant wait for the season to start,

Me neither, its so close and theres so little happening in the football world right now. Its cruel I tell ya.

Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal to laugh at this season though, it will be a laugh!

  10. The Mousers are still the most deluded fans in the land, by a very long way.

You only have to look at how many of them have put bets on with the bookies that 'Pool will win the league <doh>

They've got Adam, Downing and Carroll playing for them, ffs! And they've got a manager who, two seasons ago, was playing the likes of Hull and Millwall. There's more chance that 'Pool will get relegated than there is them winning the EPL.

Surely 'Pool fans are still the most laughable in the entire league?

    Well yeah I suppose.
The "Spurs are better than Man Utd" comment aside, Pool fans are still ridiculously deluded. I suppose at least Spurs are actually competing and have more of a reason to be getting mouthy. I still think ditching Harry and replacing him with "the special needs one" was a mistake.

  13. I have my reservations about AVB, and I would rather that Levy hadn't rewarded his failure at CFC with a juicy contract at Spurs. Still, it is possible that he will do with us what he did with Porto (even if it is unlikely), so I will give the man a chance.

Harry had to go regardless. He had become a liability to the club. He didn't get us to where we were, as we were already moving in that direction since the days of Jol. Harry just happened to have been in the right place at the right time.

Pretty sure you were relegation candidates prior to Harry turning the club around.

Could be wrong though, dont pay attention to spurs, lots of noise and no substance.

We were bottom of the league because we were being managed by an idiot that couldn't even speak English and had an ever bigger moron sorting out our transfers. 'Arry got a good team to play well brought in some stability and improved us, which he deserves credit for. However his constant blabbing to the media was a real annoyance and the risk of another season being derailed by him being linked to the England job just made it not worth keeping him.

Oooh I appear to be a bit late here. But then I wasn't expecting a Utd thread on the Chelsea board. Chelsea fans usually come on the Utd board to start these... <whistle>

When was that then? I remember 15 years ago Shearer turned us down for Blackburn and then Newcastle, so we were stuck with unknown Solskjaer. I remember ten years ago when Ronaldinho wouldn't move to Manchester, so we had to make do with some 18 year old kid with a similar name. Heck, I remember when Gazza chose Spurs ahead of Utd cos Spurs offered to buy his mum a house! So again we had to make do with Ince.

We've been missing out on players for decades now, whether it's cos of money, other clubs being quicker to deal, or just cos the players don't want to join us. But as often as not it will be the player who refuses to join who regrets it as much as Utd. Wonder how G8 (or whatever he's calling himself at the moment) feels about his mum's house now?

Are we all forgetting the fees united paid for the likea of berba and Rooney? Two examples of united using the financial clout they possessed back in the day. They bullied spurs for berba and Carrick but were never reported because they paid huge fees to shut them up. Were they not big name targets? United are arguably worse because of their stature and position in english football for using their clout to get what they want. And yes I would say they are in decline due to the fact they can no longer bully clubs for their best players, in th transfer Market at the very least. Let's face it kagawa will not be the next keane or cantona.

    So special <laugh>

How is it that some fans have **** all idea about football on or off the pitch?

Berbatov and Rooney do not in anyway compare to Hazard or Moura. None.

Moura is reported to be on.................Euros 200k a week...........

Decline because other clubs cannot sustain themselves so pray and hope for a billionaire to do what they couldn't. We hear ya.

As for Kagawa, clearly you know **** all about him so best not to comment, hes better than Hazard right now though so let that settle in your head for a while.
