Just seen your good news Leo. Congratulations to all involved. Great to hear good things from your bit of GB.
Tonight Pompey are playing AFC Wimbledon in what could be their last game if the Friday deadline for survial or liquidation holds good. Jon Harley is playing for Pompey, and if they do survive he may well have a contract for another season. How strange that this game should be against Wimbledon when they have been through the mill and somehow returned. The local reporter is saying that it is 50/50 that they will start the season. I feel sorry for the fans, but they lived in a world that was unreal. Maybe that should read that I feel sorry for the real fans, the ones who will still support their team even if it has to start all over again as did Wimbledon.
i'm sure he'd tell me that! Oh lordy, that sounds much more scary! congratulations!!! That's lovely news ) Meredith is a pretty name i agree with you M Frenchie, very hard for the fans... Aw bummer! Sorry Ak
Morning all from Bristol, covering a shift today it's amazing I only got up 45 minutes earlier than I have been doing for the last month but I feel it So I wonder what will be uncovered today Oh yeah put my car lights on today as it was a bit misty, to find out my front headlight bulb had gone It worked fine last night
Morning all, cloudless sky here as well. Temperatures up into the 30Cs again today, so need to do as much this morning as possible. Yesterday I tried to keep going through the afternoon and suffered for it. Have a good day whatever it has in store for you.
afternoon all! I'm wearing shorts!!! First time this 'summer'....it's so exciting! lol...if we get more than 3 days of this weather i'll be nearly happy
It's usually good weather at the start of the season but do we class the start as Saturday against Wycombe, or in 9 days time when we have the first league game of the season? By the way, who volunteered to take over doing the match threads?
I'll knock one up for Wycombe tonight if no-one is planning to do it. Don't really want to do it all season though.
Interesting times at Pompey today. It looks as if some sort of agreement has been reached with the two remaining highest earning players for them to leave. Both of the bids on the table were dependent on the wage bill being reduced dramatically. The administrator is now saying that a few more days can be found to sort details out. The supporters trust had applied to the City Council for a short-term bridging loan of £1.4m, which has been agreed to by the entire council. I think they have secured it against parachute payments that are still due if the club survives.
