I remember that Cortese said some time ago (probably after Pardew left) that all the managers in different departments (including the first team manager) were ranked the same and all reported to him. I believe he was talking specifically about the head of the academy. This goes against old school management where head of academy would report to the first team manager (may be partly what Pardew couldn't stomach). It makes sense that Nigel concentrates on first team achievement, but may frustrate him that he isn't as involved as he might be at another club. All guesswork though.
Jesus can we all get a grip. There are two sentences taken from an interview neither of which indicate anything . Solent journo is just putting his own spin on. We need to get used to the fact that now we are nback in PL we are bigger news and the vultures will always be looking for a story. Just ignore!
What else is there to talk about? I don't think Blackmore is trying to make Cortese look bad, or putting spin on it. He's just saying it as he calls it. He's been around SFC for a long time and I think he would know what he is talking about. Although I don't agree with believing everything you are told, certain people sticking their head in the sand going "we're PL now it will happen LA LA LA" is just as ridiculous.
He really isn't, it's fans that are taking this rumour and blowing it up. Blackmore has explicitly said he doesn't think Cortese is unhappy with Adkins.

Sticking my head in the sand - I'm not I just don't want people to blow this up out of all proportion. In any big business your management team are not best friends every day of the week,. That does not mean they can't be a success. Sometimes a bit of conflict is a benefit.

So a part of Blackmore's story is saying that Adkins and Cortese may not be seeing each other quite eye-to-eye, because of the large pressure that comes with the job.
Is that not normal? If they weren't feeling any pressure going into this season, I would probably be more worried than I am with these rumours. The pressure to stay in the league will be massive, so it is only natural that tensions may be slightly higher between NA and NC.

QPR are my tip to be the smaller club who do well this year.

Nothing to worry about between NA and NC I don't think. I'm concerned with the lack of signings though, I'm not in full scale panic mode like others but the defence is the weakest part of our team IMO and we need to strengthen and although the transfer window is open longer, I would like signings before the season starts for obvious reasons. I would like to think we could proceed with signings without NC present as well..
