Hopefully Wenger will use a Fergie-style trick and keep them hanging as long as possible to disrupt their transfer plans. i wouldnt have put it past the old *** to just declare his interest publicly in an attempt to disrupt RVP

Let him go. One good season in all the time he has been here, injury prone as well. On top of the disrespect he has shown the club. Sure we could let him walk away for free, but take the 20m. I don't think he would enhance united as much as people are making out, let them pay the silly transfer fee and wages while we put our new found transfer enthusiasm to good use and sign another younger quality replacement.

You should sell him, unless he wants to go to United, in which case I would make him see out his contract.
In 12 months he will be a 30 year old injury prone striker who has had 1 good season in the 8 he spent at Arsenal

I still think he will stay and that his comments were an ill-advised attempt to force the club into action. I'll still cheer him if he does stay at the club.

Was a joke regarding the word spur.

Football fans can be a touchy bunch at times, I have been banned by my own board for less so covering my back <laugh>

You sell to them and all are rivals in one sense or another.

Arsenal will have no say in where RVP goes. It is his decision and his decision alone. All the power is in his hands not arsenal's.

He is simply the latest in a long line of glory hunting greedy ****ers that are ruining football.

There are ways of moving on that are acceptable and ways that are classless.
Glenn Hoddle left Spurs as he wanted to play in France. Henry left to play for Barcelona. Both were legends at our clubs by what they'd done over a whole number of years. The same can be said of players like Lawrie Cunningham, Keegan, Ray Wilkins etc.

Rvp could have said 2 years ago that he would not be renewing his contract and would understand if Arsenal therefore needed to sell him but whatever happened he'd give his best to the club.

Instead he has gone down the same route of Berbatov, Nasri, Cole, Adebayor and Sol Campbell...true, they got medals and massive payrises but all could have left as legends but instead are viewed as well...kind of classless. Campbell is not regarded in the same light at arsenal as any of the players he played with. My Gooner mates loved that he joined you on a free, thought he was a great defender but do not regard him highly. Compare that to Pat Jennings!

I hope RVP stays with you (I know I am in a minority) but I am 45 yrs old and remember when football had something resembling a soul...nowadays it resembles a cess pit

    You have no class.

A forum is a place for discussion, not a place to ridicule other people's opinions or thoughts.

The previous comment is mine, I stand by that regardless of wether he moves or not. I personally feel Van Persie is not irreplaceable. And regardless of how good he might be here or at united, no player who treats the club with such disdain is that important in my eyes. Again, these are my opinions, and I also respect yours, have the courtesy to do the same to others.

The words that I used were to emphasise my disagreement.

How is discussion constructed? On different views.

I see no need to elaborate.

Just because I find what someone says is wrong, it doesn't mean I am trying to cause an argument.

If you are all so pro opinion here, surely I'm allowed mine?

There are ways to go about countering opinions you disagree with other than calling those views 'bullshit' and calling people 'morons'. I have sat back for most of the time and I hoped you will knock it off but you are testing our patience.

There's only so much I can take, I am human as well.

How many times must I see things like "Gibbs is a good player"? It's incredibly tedious responding constructively every time, then after I give said constructive response, it's often dismissed by something silly, such as, "You're a WUM", "Stop trolling", "You're not a real Arsenal fan", etc.

I'm not the only one at fault here.

From what I have seen, people only call you that AFTER you call them morons and their views bullshit. But, if you can provide examples that prove otherwise, then feel free.
