As I said a few posts ago, if RVP goes elsewhere, he will go from 'world class' to 'injury prone' overnight.

Of the teams mentioned I doubt any would ever fail to meet the regulations. All could and probably will have big spending sprees every now and then which wont make much difference as over a period of time it would balance out.

Things would have to go seriously wrong for a footballing powerhouse to suddenly end up in such serious financial trouble FFP would effect them massively.

The money clubs, Chelsea aside who may of been a top club for long enough now dont have that luxury. As it stands none have the massive fan bases of any of the clubs mentioned above bar chelsea and none have revenue that can sustain them with their owners help.

If they continue in the FM sense I have little doubt uefa will act, whether its bannings or effectively knocking the out of the group stage with points deductions ( 6 points would be bad enough, any more is the end of your CL campaign before its started ) they will do something.

I think with City not spending and chelsea over recent years trying to be more responsible ( few transfers aside ) it shows clubs are concerned. PSG are making a statement and I dont think they will match this spending ever again but will it be enough to get them through FFP.

It will be interesting when it kicks in. I still see a massive firesale from the money clubs right before its fully implemented <laugh>

Rooney would of been 40million euros in todays terms.

However we payed 10million upfront and the rest based on targets and instalments. No doubt hes reached them all but thats because he was a success. If he hadnt been I doubt we would of paid the full fee. Probably half.

PSG are paying all upfront it seems, and theres no certainty he will succeed or have a sell on value that recoups enough.

    Probably

Bet rangers thought their lawyers had it under control.

  7. I've said in the past that it won't stop it. We have clubs lower down like QPR and Nottm Forest that have mega-rich owners. I fully expect these sides to spend money that they don't have to enable them to move up the tables. It wouldn't surprise me if they spent enough to challenge for the league title eventually (not saying they will mind) and just ignore the fact they can't play in Europe. If the win a title or two then their fan base grows increasing income, players want to join them because they are successful meaning they can pay them a little less than what they had to play players to join in the first place. They can get the best youngsters and develop them. Eventually becoming more sustainable and being allowed into Europe. It is still possible to do a Chelsea / Man City but it would take much longer because of FFP implications IMO.

  8. I sincerely doubt that but don't know enough about it to argue <ok>

It is worth noting that wages from contracts agreed prior to last season (I think?) won't be counted in the FFP calculations. Long term deals were one one to avoid it in the short term <ok>

It has fook all to do with you, if PSG want to spend cash, they can, that's business, all this FFP is BS, if they want to sort it out, then the simplest solution would be a wages cap.

The QPR's and Forests of the world can afford to be banned from europe for a few years as they wont expect to be there.

Spend big for a summer or 2 to build your squad and then spend very wisely for a few years to balance it out, maybe sell a few players to balance the books and show uefa you are making an effort to comply. By this stage they are probably round abouts for european places.

The reputable Wall Street Journal state that there's more value in a United scarf than there is in a new Utd share on the New York Stock Exchange(united start trading there on friday)

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390444900304577577523330558402.html

The closing quote is very amusing.

"If the IPO goes as planned, the Glazer family will have done just fine out of Man United. But they haven't left much on the field for a new crop of shareholders to get excited about."

    <whistle>

Perhaps united are linking themselves with Moura and RVP to boost there stock, when in reality they have **** all chance of getting either.

A club heavily in debt, and firmly in City's shadow in terms of squad depth and financial muscle.

Lets, see, I can stay in the capital of London where I am captain, we have just made lots of good signings but maybe a change would be nice.

I know, lets go to Manchester and play upfront with granny shagger and the Welsh bloke he shagged his sister in law.

If something does not sound right, it usually isn't.

If he wants glory or cash its City, if he wants to go abroad then he has options.

Either way United just makes no sense.

    Or...

Stay in London where I have been for 8 years, achieved little and everyone ****s off anyway

Go to manchester united, win things and look back on my career and think, did pretty well me.

    Easy decision.
